IMO he probably hasn't kicked the bucket (though the hilarity if that's the case), but more likely either the G7 meeting didn't go as intended (so they're struggling to find suitable spin for it) or Kabul chaos doesn't look to be getting better (e.g. CIA meeting rumours, Taliban blocking Afghan access to the airport, Biden acceding to Taliban demands for August 31 pullout).
