or another possibility is the US is so chickenshit, that they're afraid the crowds would just charge at them the minute they learn they'll likely get stranded, and rather than have images of US troops gunning down refugees by the thousands, they'd rather just pull out super quick before they get wise and strand everyone there. there were british and aussie cargo planes landing a few hours ago with american ones probably intended for this rapid withdrawal but yea...something is happening atm to be sure to prompt THIS many rapid cancellations.
at the utmost optimistic figure they've gotten half of all the people at the airport out by now...and that's not counting the thousands if not tens of thousands outside Kabul who don't have a prayer to even get out by the 31st.
