Is this whole fiasco an effort to literally create an incident to justify us redeploying? Like, revenge for Americans massacred by the Taliban while we tried to evacuate? Maybe even just delaying in the hope that something horrific enough happens to shift the public anger from Biden tot he Taliban?

That's the only thing I can think of. It's unreal. Even it that were the case, it's not fucking going well because everyone with a brain is more mad at Biden than anything. I was expecting evil and incompetence, but this administration is bottoming out harder than I could have ever imagined?

The government isn't some super smart monolith. The US empire is collapsing under the crippling weight of its massive bureaucracy. Everything is going to shit because you have all these massive departments with their own leaders acting completely autonomously and not communicating or coordinating with each other. The Commander And Chief is out to lunch and everyone is just going their own direction.
And now that SHTF all these department heads are running around doing things to make sure they arn't the ones blamed rather then working to make the actual situation better.
