Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

State Sovereignty? 10th Amendment? What are those?
The constitution explicitly gives power to state legislatures to regulate federal elections inside their state. But it also explicitly gives superior power to the federal congress to do so to some or all federal elections if it wants

Just forwarded it to all my email buddies. Send it far and wide, folks.

Here's some real food for thought from the Israelis re the Taliban victory.

Given what the goat herders have accomplished in the modern era, I have a moment where I was like "Maybe Allah is the right way" or correct answer lol.

The main point is though the Taliban, no matter how barbaric their beliefs are the the modern day professional catty secular humanist liberal, had a belief that gave them a will of steel when others would have thrown in the towel by now.

The closest thing to that are probably Trump supporters in America otherwise that belief in God is being irradicated around the west in favor of mindless coonsomerism. The muzzies were right on that in the long run.

Grandma and Grandpa Clinton need to get better fittng clothes. There are contours and features on display that I didn't need etched into my mind. You'd think all of that Clinton Foundation money could buy something better.

Also Bill really needs to avoid mouth-breathing.

Two congressmen snuck into Kabul to assess the situation

Veterans and Reps. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., and Peter Meijer, R-Mich., traveled to Kabul "in secret" on Tuesday, drawing the ire of Biden administration officials.

The congressmen are now casting doubt on the Biden administration's planned Aug. 31 withdrawal deadline.

"As Members of Congress, we have a duty to provide oversight on the executive branch. There is no place in the world right now where oversight matters more," Moulton and Meijer said in a joint statement Tuesday.

The trip was criticized by an official with the U.S. State Department, who said of the congressmen: "They have chosen to put themselves, our servicemembers, and our diplomats at even greater risk — all while potentially depriving those in need of a seat to safety."

The Associated Press, which first reported on the travel, added that other Biden administration officials were "furious" about the trip.

Moulton and Meijer defended their travel to Afghanistan.

"We conducted this visit in secret, speaking about it only after our departure, to minimize the risk and disruption to the people on the ground, and because we were there to gather information, not to grandstand," their statement said. "We left on a plane with empty seats, seated in crew-only seats to ensure that nobody who needed a seat would lose one because of our presence."

The congressmen added: "After talking with commanders on the ground and seeing the situation here, it is obvious that because we started the evacuation so late, that no matter what we do, we won't get everyone out on time, even by September 11. Sadly and frustratingly, getting our people out depends on maintaining the current, bizarre relationship with the Taliban."

Earlier Tuesday, President Biden said the U.S. is on pace to leave by the Aug. 31 deadline.

The Taliban, which staged a forceful takeover of Afghanistan last week, have said they would not extend the U.S. grace beyond the end of August, and that if forces are still in the country beyond that date, there would be unspecified consequences.

Kamala going to Vietnam.
Vietnam on South China seas
China in dispute over South China Sea
Afghanis and chinese have close ties
America told to vamoose from kabul
Biden conference delayed 4 hours
Kamala avoided/delayed landing in Vietnam
G7 summit on the same day

China making a move for Taiwan knowing there will be no resistance from America,as they're in crisis and the Europeans and Brits have distanced themselves from the states?

Was the delay because China were on the blower telling Kamala/the press to keep their noses out while China practiced 'war games' and carried out 'maneuvers'?

Give them medals. Politicians that do their job, even if it means they put themselves in danged in such an important topic.

Yeah, this the kind of shit that one eyed stooge should be doing instead of just playing up political theater telling the people he helped get in to fuck themselves.

Snitches get stitches. Can't have anyone witnessing misinformation that doesn't match with the 70 gorillion saved a day.

(Have you noticed my ass is particularly chapped?)

Possibly, but then he didn't even try to address it if it were the case, and Taiwan isn't a backwards hellhole. If maneuvers were being done outside of Taiwan or anywhere near the South China Sea we'd know it because the Taiwanese and Japanese would be screaming about it.

When the leaders and generals are saying "negotiating with taliban", do they mean they're negotiating with the taliban who are also negotiating with the Chinese at the same time?

I wonder if there's any cross over?
Nah, it'd just be with the Taliban. China doesn't really get anything out of directly interfering here that it won't just get anyway. Additionally, the situation is too fast-moving for the legndarily inflexible China to capitalize on or really work with, without dedicating one of its top men to it. It's just not worth that kind of resource.

Something funky happened out there, or was going to happen.

Did Kamala have any additional spots that she was going to pay a sneaky visit to? Sometimes a leader will visit France for a big event, but also nip to Spain for the day, sometimes unplanned. Or unannounced?

Was Kamala preparing to take a cheeky did to Taiwan, and the Chinese said keep away?

Sorry for the double post I'm on mobile.

I don't mean directly, but if the Chinese want something from the taliban, that the taliban want from America, to give to China, the taliban leveraging this position would make sense.

Give us X, so we can trade it for Y, so that we can received Z, or we will gun everyone down.

I agree something happened, but also think we are missing a big piece of the puzzle. We don't know if she had any unplanned visits, but China saying to keep away from Taiwan wouldn't really necessitate scrapping a briefing and waiting four hours.

Hmm, while not impossible, it seems unlikely. I would have said abandoned tech, but that's already in the hands of the Taliban. All China and the Taliban both want is America simply to get the fuck out. In the grand scheme of things, Afghanistan is pretty worthless, given the sheer cost and time it will take to simply set up the mines. S'part of why it made no sense to nation-build there. So it's not likely to be something from the Americans, and the American's aren't stopping anyone from getting the only thing in Afghanistan worth anything.... so nothing seems to be left.
