It's a relief to see that some of the people reblogging that are actually calling the OP out on their melodramatic bullshit. If anything, their reasons for claiming that Garnet is black (dark skin, an afro, big lips, ect.) are racist because they're resorting to nothing but stereotypes. Ass-backwards much?
She had a more realistic skin color in the earlier episodes. Honestly the "if you see this design and think she's a black woman YOU'RE RACIST" shit that I see thrown around sometimes just seems like more reactionary SJW autism.
From cuteosphere, but applies more here. You know that the primary audience for the cartoon to relate to is supposed to be children, right? Again, somehow a character that is nothing but a total stereotype created by white people is the best representation and not a funny punchline. Right.
Aren't all of the main characters victims of "Designed by a Tumblrite or Stormfronter" syndrome, though? Like I was saying, the two "black coded" characters have stereotypes that white people give black ones, to the point where even their personalities are stock. It's just funny for people to see people prop up characters as progressive when they're so "progressive" that they're actually racist.
