Community Munchausen's by Internet (Malingerers, Munchies, Spoonies, etc) - Feigning Illnesses for Attention

Today Dani decided to bless us with this video, showing how she gets ready for work. Starring:
- absolutely filthy room (energy drink cans are conveniently covered with stickers)
- the impressive lack of neck
- her astonishing weight gain
- the most disgusting toothbrush and hairbrush I’ve ever seen
- whatever this make up look is

what I find particularly sad about the toothbrush is that if you're someone who had social interactions with healthy human beings you would know the toothbrush's state is shameful and should at the very least not be displayed 'in public' like that

also this lady is one of the dirtiest looking munchie imo

I swear that’s the worst fucking thing about munchies. The way they treat animals as accessories is disgusting. (:_(
Their service dogs always look terrified in public most likely due to negligence/improper training too. I always wonder how they manage to take care of their dogs while also claiming they’re in such horrible pain getting out of bed some days is impossible.

I guess the answer is most of them have some type of enabler that looks after the animal when it isn’t being used for photo ops.

a lot of the Floridians participate in dog sports and conformation showing these days. So they basically tell on themselves constantly for being able to participate in extensive training, grooming, and competition including traveling. One of mine admit she spent upwards of 15 hours a week keeping her poodle in show coat.

But can’t take care of themselves, get a job, or contribute to society in any way because muh illness.

Maybe, but I expect "long covid" to be the bigger grift. The supposed symptoms consist of pretty much anything because there's no definitive list and mostly consist of stuff that is subjectively reported and seen in people who are just depressed, lazy, fat, neurotic, and let themselves go even worse than usual sitting at home by themselves living off stimulus cash and delivery for the last while.
There was a study done where researchers asked teens about the typical long COVID symptoms. There was no statistically significant difference in self-reported symptoms when you compared the teenagers who had COVID and the teenagers who never had COVID.

Long COVID is going to be another one of those fun things where 80-90% of the people claiming it are actually just sedentary and depressed. Yeah, of course that can make you feel like shit and give you severe fatigue and brain fog. People just immediately discard the idea that depression can have physical effects.

I’m recently following the Florida service dog gang with fascination. My mind is boggled over how Helper d0g na1a needs a motorized wheelchair for chronic migraines. But, manages to groom and dye two large service animals regularly. She and others caught my eye after they had a social media slap-fest where someone accused her of “buying a motorized wheelchair just to prove how much money she makes” and reselling donated service-dog related equipment to her followers for more money than someone would spend buying the same item, free, like she’s famous.

I haven’t quite figured out if she in particular is a munchie, or simply a bit off and entitled, and given the outcome of another poodle lady at the theme parks I don’t want to be negative, but I do think it’s weird when she writes posts like this one tonight:

Tl;dr: She says when her migraines flair so badly she can’t move or get out of bed in the morning, sometimes her cure is to get up anyway, hop into her wheelchair, and head to a very loud theme park in the bright Florida sunshine. You know, sound and brightness, the treatment all migraines need.

And, she’s the one I just posted about who said that people sticking their smelly butts in her face was an affront to the disabled community and that calling her out on her entitlement was ableist because she was at greater risk of harm being strapped to a wheelchair....for her migraines. Who I have seen power-walking through theme parks like she owns them.

She does have two very polite, well trained dogs who seem very well cared for though.

Wait, she only claims chronic migraines? That's fucking hilarious. If that's the case, then I'm sure she'll be "diagnosed" with hEDS and POTS just like the rest of the Florida degens very soon. Look out for a future dramatic "health update".

Migraine symptoms can usually be alleviated, at least somewhat, by triptans in pill form or injections. There's so many options for migraine treatment if those don't work. If anything, her using a chair during a migraine would probably aggravate symptoms more if she were truly having one due to symptoms getting worse when exposed to movement, light, and sounds. What a dumbass.

Wait, she only claims chronic migraines?
I’ve seen her cite her disabling conditions as autism, migraines, C/PTSD and a former traumatic brain injury.. However, I haven’t seen any sort of complaints of symptoms that actually correspond to a TBI. She often says that her medical disabilities are hers, and hers to keep private, but she posts strange reasons that she requires a wheelchair (which is recent) or needs not only one service dog, but two service dogs who each perform different tasks.

She’s not an attention seeking munchie for the sake of ”feel sorry for me,” it’s more like...“give me special treatment, let me play with my dogs, and I want to profit (literally) off of the fan base of Disney World.“ Maybe munching more so for the sake of being able to make demands, and entitlement purposes?

But then most of the Disney/Dog/disabled young women are not traditional munchies. They don’t want a lot of things ”wrong” with them, they want just enough for special privileges and attention, while still being quirky. Is there a form of munchie Karen-ing that is basically “line jumper,” “upgrade my room” behavior? Because..that.

Still not sure she’s an actual munchie, but that’s her behavior profile and it has been silly enough for me to keep an eye on her antics.

megan has been documented.
Part 1 | 2

Her dog is one of the ones that doesn’t look like she wants to neck herself constantly. I think she got really, really lucky with the dog’s personality on top of working with her constantly and I’ve heard from people who have been unfortunate to be around her IRL that the dog is relaxed, happy, and extremely well behaved all the time. But rest assured she’s insane and has been trying to transition from “i need this dog for my BPD attention supply” to “I need two dogs for vague physical health problems I will not be discussing in detail” for two years, suicide baiting, gritting, trying to get her social media followers to harass businesses and individuals that upset her in any way, and posting long rants about exactly how you are to walk on the many eggshells she has laid at your feet.

Edit: removed splurg.

It’s comforting to see my gut was correct in her munching and BSing symptoms, I feel less terrible about the slimy feeling she gives me.

Don't feel bad, she's objectively awful. One of her former friends told her not to smoke weed in her house because it triggered her migraines or something. In response Megan chimped out and went into a group text to conspire to get this other girl fired, mocked her for having been raped by her ex-boyfriend, and said she deserved to be abducted and raped again. Someone in that group chat leaked the texts to the other girl who posted them on her insta. She's also been wasting ER resources (and complaining about medical abuse at them) during a time where Florida is deadass considering shutting down their water sanitation plants to conserve oxygen for coof patients.

My pet theory is her parents are actually giving her money to stay in Florida so they don't have to deal with her anymore. Every time she shuttled off home she would go full Borderline and accuse them of abuse, criticize everything they did, and suicide bait until she earned a stay at the Hotel d'Psych Ward.

Hey, I just saw that r/illnessfakers had released a statement due to a BBC doc about münchausen by internet that referred to them. Does anyone have a link to somewhere we could watch it? (for free)
Archived here.
The documentary is one of the low budget ones that the BBC put out where they don't really explore anything in depth. They did bring up Jaquie specifically, there's no conclusion on whether or not she was faking but they do discuss it briefly as a possibility. The presenter seems to really not want to accuse anyone of faking an illness, although she does accept that clearly some people do fake illnesses. They got an extremely generic statement from Reddit about their site rules not allowing harassment. They definitely could have covered everything they wanted to in a much shorter amount of time, it was only 24 minutes but felt too stretched out even then. There are a few references to Kiwi Farms and some screenshots that you can tell came from here, but it is never mentioned by name.

I don’t get it. I just don’t get it. I’m not going to pl or sperg too hard but my question is if you have a physical disability, why the fuck does everyone go to these crowded ass places where they could easily pick up germs? Disregarding the fact that we are in a pandemic right now.

disabled people have the right to go out and have fun but after what happened at my job (job never disclosed positive covid employees even though I’m high risk for something going bad and yes I’m vaxxed but so were the employees) and just general life experience tells me crowded places are never a good idea, period.

AdventHealth (the big hospital chain in Orlando) is limiting elective procedures again and parking lot triage tents are going up in a lot of FL hospitals. Things aren't looking too hot for Florida munchies at the moment.

I'm surprised we haven't seen even more meltdowns from munchies being denied care due to hospitals collapsing under the strain of COVID. Obviously their very real conditions require them to get just as much attention as people who are literally dying.
