Taliban offensive of 2021 and collapse of Afghan government.

I think the point is that life is what you make of it. The fact remains that Western society provides a far better opportunity for a meaningful and constructive life than the illusory substitute promised by the Taliban, and the results speak for themselves: which society would you rather live in?
western society provides hedonism, escapism and cope. the opportunity, meaning and fullfilment it advertises are illusions, kept up and alive by the best propaganda money can buy

General Mckenzie has made it clear in his pentagon interview that the evacuation will not be stopped or halted in any measure.

To paraphrase the words of Walter Sobchak’s doppelgänger @AnOminous, the U.S. government is out of their element on this one. There’s no way we can defend Biden’s administration for messing this up in now a very graphic way with this bombing at Kabul’s airport, while still make memes about a group that will kill their own women and toss infidels out of helicopters.

Either way, the trapping of Americans on Afghanistan’s own soil is not a good look regarding these circumstances. It makes one really ponder how we went from America First to America Last to as of this moment being America’s Doormat.
We should never have been there other than to get Osama anyway. And he escaped to Pakistan in 2001 thanks to Bush's bumbling. Trying to occupy the place was absolute insanity. We should have just let them be Russia's problem. Graveyard of empires, bla bla bla, you know the shpiel.

I wonder if the bombing victims last thoughts were warming, like, being wrapped in american Rainbow Flag.

Some of the blasts are the US blowing our own shit up. But yea, sure the evacuation is not being effected.

Not sure this has been posted yet, but there's footage of the aftermath of the suicide bombing. Lot more than just the soldiers who got killed and wounded. Odds are the bomber had one hell of an explosive on him/her. At least a few dozen Afghans in the ditch.

That first video is from an ISIS execution that happened in Iraq best I can recall.

And now there's been a third suicide bomb at the airport.

At this point it's obvious the civvies remaining on the ground in Kabul are fucked, no matter what country they ostensibly belonged to.

So the question I now have is:

How many soldiers are we going to leave behind?

It's questionable whether the attacks have been bombs or rockets, but rockets fired onto the runway or at outgoing planes could easily result in the largest loss of American soldier lives since I don't know when. Any military spergs want to chime in with when the last time is that 200, 1000, 4000 US soldiers were killed in a single day?
Not since world War 2. This is shaping up to be America's most catastrophic defeat since the Battle of Bataan.

Not sure if I'm getting the scale of this: How bad is this to the world in general? I'm getting people in places doomposting that this will lead to an all-out war like they want a WW3 to happen.

The Pax Americana is over. The time when we could go to third-world countries and tell people "work for us, inform for us, we'll keep you safe" and have them believe us is gone, completely, and it will impact our intelligence and military operations for decades. Trust that has been broken this badly cannot be repaired. Everyone who helps America knows that they could spend the last moments of their lives in a shit-filled canal until a bomber blows them to smithereens.
