Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

For all the talk about how Trump was the worst president ever, can anybody name anything he did that was a failure? Off the top of my head, nothing comes to mind except his handling of COVID, but the whole world can take blame for that. And this administration hasn't done any better in that regard.
Draining the swamp.

If you look at his cabinet, he repeatedly picked the most establishmentarian, corrupt hacks to flock around him and gave clemency to idiots who hated him and wanted his agenda to fail, like Mitch McConnell, William Barr, and "General" Milley. If there's a grain of truth to the "AKSUALLY TRUMP CAUSED THE AFGHAN FIASCO" argument, it's that by allowing the generals to deceive and backstab him, he guaranteed the incompetent louts could continue to act as they had in the past 20 years... that is to say, without a shred of care for victory or the lives of US citizens and soldiers. He also allowed them to whisper in his ear, and pick a dud of a Supreme Court nominee, ACB.

I say all this because I truly think Trump's heart and instincts are in the right place. But if there's one reason I'm hesitant to see him be President again, it's that he really hasn't corrected this great flaw of his. If he does, though, then growth can really begin.

I can't believe it's taken some liberals this long to realize Joe Biden is an absolute retard.

Again, FUCK THIS GUY and each and every smug jackass who voted for "Not BLONALD BLUMPPHHH!" I am not interested. Shut the fuck up. And I strongly caution everyone to use extreme caution with any friends, family, or social media contacts suddenly finding contrition and regret for voting Biden or democrat.

THEY SHOWED YOU WHAT THEY ABSOLUTELY WILL DO WHEN THEY THINK IT BENEFITS THEM.

They showed you that the fundamentally lack: Compassion, empathy, critical thinking, the ability to ask questions and find their own answers, as well as basic cognition as far as figuring out what is a cOnSpIrAcY tHeOrY and what are potential facts--should they read a few contradictory news publications for themselves.

They have already weaponized your good will in bad faith. They have happily weaponized your compassion, empathy, and general desire to treat others fairly and equally. When people like this move goal posts and refuse to play by the rules...forgiveness is off the table. It should be if you care enough about your mental health and that of your (sane) family and friends because these others have put you on notice that you are LESS THAN.

Until it touches them somehow and they want your sympathetic ear.

I will waggle all the fingers on my hand in their faces and gift them with a flock of these: 🖕

I think his greatest flaw was trusting his advisors when they said to leave most of it alone for term 2. Solid advice, actually, in a technical point. But it was sabotaging him from day 1. They knew that they were going to do everything they could to ensure he didn't get a term 2.

He was added to the ticket for his FOREIGN POLICY experience because Obama had nothing more than a well attended talk given in Berlin as experience.

Which is even funnier in hindsight because Robert Gates, another Obama admin figure, said that in Biden's long career in Washington he had NEVER made the right call on foreign policy and this was back in 2014 before Trump even came into the picture.

You're correct though, while Obama was still young and kind of out there Biden was a grounding figure and elder statesman, at least that the intention barring the alleged disdain Obama privately had for Biden that seemed to bubble up leading into the 2020 election.

Did you miss the AG saying he intends to sue over any voting laws? He already did it for Georgia, though that case seems dead-ended.
Exactly. AG and the Justice Department are increasingly irrelevant, just like the rest of this administration.

The political capital they had was burned through fast, and there is no regaining it barring some miracle victory.

He's at the stage where he is likely being reminded every single day that Beau is dead.
That’s basically what happened with Margaret Thatcher. She had dementia, and her daughter had to remind her daily that her husband Denis was dead and that she was no longer PM. Like Joe has occasionally exhibited, she was also unable to remember the beginning of a sentence by the time she got to the end of it.

At least Thatcher was retired by then, and the levers of power were out of reach. Joe is in comparable shape, yet is the fucking sitting POTUS.

They are very, very aware that they might not be able to replace him, and he's the oldest justice. If he leaves under a Republican...
The left’s true SCOTUS masturbation fantasy (outside of packing it) is Clarence Thomas clutching his chest and falling forward. He is, imho, the truest and most principled conservative on the court today. With Breyer, the best they can do is replace him with another liberal, albeit a younger one with more longevity. Thomas going would precariously tip the balance, as Roberts isn’t a reliable conservative vote.

Which is why I said after they win with an affirmative. The win is guaranteed, and once it occurs the last shred of hesitancy drops from the other Red states. Basically, Texas and Georgia are taking the financial cost to pave the road.

Its also generally the point that a dementia patient will lose the will to live. Even if they keep consciously forgetting the fact their loved one is dead, they remember somewhere deep down that something is wrong.

Well as much as I will forever hate Sam Harris, good on him for eating his hats.
Unlike:
@Techpriest
@Hollywood Hulk Hogan

Them two retards are just two reasons why I keep bringing up the fact that dems and Biden voters have shown you what they will do. No sympathy. No forgiveness no matter how contrite.
The contrition is a ruse. Look at the true believers. Fucking ghouls.

Looks like our Asian friends are getting a bit skeeved out
Frankly, good. The world has leaned too long on American hegemony and has grown weak to the vipers that grow amongst them. While I am not a fan of managed decline as the current establishment wants (Namely, let it decline slow and fuck off with their piles of cash) the simple truth is that America would do better to let go of its global dominance to focus on fixing its internal issues. A, comparatively, short-term fall for long-term gain. If it kept going as it was, it will only be a long-term slide to irrelevancy.

Wonder how many NATO countries are starting to wish they'd done what Trump wanted and increased their NATO spending.

I'm not sure the American public would be in the mood for any military adventures even if a terrorist strike happened on our own soil with the Child Sniffing Ghoul in charge.

Even then, our military is fucking borked, our leadership too worried about micro-aggressions and 'white supremacy dog whistles' and 'white rage' to worry about actually fighting wars instead of using the military as a social experiment.

Agreed. As a non-American; it's time the rest of the world to get off Uncle Sam's fat teats.

America has no major communication issues, manpower issues, or resources issues. It could easily go partially isolationist, fix its shit, and come back roaring again. I am a strong advocate that a country that wishes to continue existing must take an ebb and flow approach, letting times of waning influence follow resurgences, in order to maintain itself. As history has ample examples, when a country attempts to retain all its power it inevitably loses much if not all of it and cannot regain it.

And part of that working is strong allies able to stand on their own, so that when the ebbing occurs they are not left vulnerable to hostile forces. So I support the rising of our allies, as our own focus turns inwards.
