Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

IIRC the way he was imprisoned in Nam left him unable to left him unable to lift his arms above a certain height. Basically he'd be fucked if someone told him to put his hands in the air and wave them about like you just don't care.

Feel free to disagree with me but I wish he didn't say that part. It just gives the media ammunition to say "DRUMPF CARES MORE ABOUT BEING PRESIDENT THAN DEAD AMERICANS! REEE ORANGE MAN BAD!!!" Or somehow tie Trump even more to the Taliban and say that he caused all this because he's not President.

And that's the sad part, had he stuck with Trump's deal and things turned out well like they were supposed to, it's not as though the media would even credit Trump. These people are so fucking spiteful they'd probably delete any consecutive combination of the numbers 4 and 5 if they could. So Biden would have not only got asspats he would have got ALL the asspats.

It's more complicated than that the Taliban and Isis can make deals with eachother, and the Taliban will be actively looking for a way to appease ISIS long enough for them to entrench themselves.


And boom. And also yes. The decision can now be cited to any challenge to governmental agency overreach, it's is the first case to deal with such and sets massively crippling precedence to a vast swath of powers.

If I wasn't so convinced that Democrats and leftists in general were more retarded than single celled bacterium I'd suspect they did this intentionally as some sort of long con game where they can use that to challenge any future GOP admins attempts to use ICE for immigration or something. But leftists are by default dumb as shit, so that probably wasn't it, but I'm sure they'll find a way to use it to fuck things up in the future.

So they can throw on someone younger who will last longer, pack the court and then knowing the democrats probably make some new law that new justices can only be confirmed by democrat presidential admins.

SCOTUS not cucking goes a long way to preventing that, This was one of the things that needed to occur to prevent the worst-case scenarios.

The next few days are going to be very interesting for more than Afghanistan because that moratorium ruling potentially also derailed the latest "deal" over the infrastructure and budget votes.

The progressive wing is going to start nipping at Pelosi's heels to do something about this, and given the Biden admin has largely proven itself devoid of any serious authority, some members might see better payoff in standing their ground this time. Not to mention every day is a day closer to next year's primaries.

I think you're giving normal people too much credit. A lot of them get their news from aggregators like yahoo or msn, which mostly host news from sites like salon/vanity fair/vox/AP/Reuters/etc. Most of the journalists who write articles for these places are part of that tiny minority of a tiny minority that are the hardcore leftists on twitter.

Case in point, the rest of my family more or less has TDS and a vast majority of the opinions that they espouse match the same views you see on twitter. I know for a fact that one of them goes nowhere near twitter and gets all his news from reading whatever pops up in the home screen of microsoft edge and watches the nightly NBC news religiously. The people feeding these news sources are those same tiny minority of a tiny minority. I'd argue a lot white collar office workers are the same. They're probably reading whatever pops up in their browser homepage. Explains the reason why Mozilla (which makes nothing but a browser) went out of their way to "curate" their "homepage". They know the extent of their reach with that homepage.

I want to believe that we're not getting towards Worst Case, but to go full doomer even in The Sunshine State we've got a mess of counties in open rebellion against the governor and shit ain't getting better at the national level.
