You bring this up, and it speaks to a larger point. The Taliban are an illiberal movement, even anti liberal. (That is Liberalism the actual reigning ideology of the west, not the slur). Liberalism allows for and encourages all of these niceties and comforts and entertainment.
Wherein an illiberal movement like the Taliban represses them, but are people really going to die fighting the Taliban because they can’t listen to music or watch Netflix?

I'd wager you would have guys actually fighting the Taliban if they knew for certain, as in the Taliban directly states no more internet, music, or cell phones. Just like Americans would likely go ape shit if the Biden Administration or some other neo lib government said directly No guns/4chan/wrongthink/saying nigger in video games rather than their current (and successful) tactic of slowly chipping away at those rights while using doublespeak like "we aren't coming for your guns, we believe in free speech too". I would think the Taliban would just realize the benefits of bread and circuses, somewhat in the same way North Korea overlooks commonly broken laws regarding banned entertainment like western films being passed around by their citizens.

Do people die for stuff or for the principle of not having their stuff taken from them, or it being denied to them? What truly motivates men, prosperity or the principle that their prosperity should be enjoyed?

They already had their chance to fight the Taliban when the taliban was outnumbered 10-1 and ANA was fully stocked with US supplied equipment. However, everyone trained to fight the taliban surrendered and is in the process of fleeing the country and all their equipment is now in Taliban hands. There's a few holdouts in a some provinces fighting the Taliban, but there's not going to be some popular uprising. If anything the Taliban taking control of the country was the popular uprising.
People also vastly overestimate how much of Afghanistan and its population where experiencing westernization. Outside of Kabul I doubt people saw much liberalization of their lives.

Educated Afghani's wont stick around or fight. We will likely see significant populations of Kabul leave in the coming months and sneak across borders.
The northern alliance is just as dumb as the Taliban, its one group of hillbillies vs the other.
