The average going rate for an AK or PKM just got tanked in that part of the world; and probably every where else too, except for America.

Gotta love these smarmy apparatichiks who treat the military as political props at best and disposable pawns at worst. All the veterans and active personelle who were the Blood in this "Blood and Treasure" boondoggle deserve an answer from our leadership. We especially deserve an answer for WHY we are breaking the cardinal rule of the Armed Forces. Why are we leaving our people behind?

Two British nationals and child of another British national among those killed in Kabul airport attack on Thursday, UK says

Dominic Raab said two others were also injured in the suicide bomb attack on Thursday.

"These were innocent people and it is a tragedy that as they sought to bring their loved ones to safety in the UK they were murdered by cowardly terrorists," he said.

At least 90 people were killed in the attack.

It really is the millennials Vietnam.

I don't think zoomer afghans are going to like losing their internet and modern niceties. Does the Taliban not have a new command structure from the pre-9/11 guys?
Considering their meme game it's reasonable to assume that the current Taliban are very much products of the internet age, and I imagine that their new generation doesn't want to miss internet access and modern niceties either.
Just look at Saudi Arabia - they will censor and they may try to restrict access to non-Islamic content, but the Internet as a technology is not forbidden by Islamic law, so I actually think it'll remain if they can maintain the infrastructure.

Why is no one blaming GWB for this?
GWB did have a legitimate reason for going in. I don't think anyone is mad we fought the war. We are mad with how it ended. GWB has plenty of responsibility for how fucked it got, but after 8 years of Obama, 4 of Trump and now Biden, it's really hard to pin this current cock up on Dubya

Why is no one blaming GWB for this?
Because what most people are focusing on as the current problem is the...current problem, which is the haphazard way Biden withdrew from Afghanistan and why he chose to do so.

GWB put is in Afghanistan 20 years ago, but he's not currently in office. Hasn't been since 2008. He's not the one that chose to openly violate the pre-existing agreement with the Afghan government and Taliban for muh niningleven optics. He's not the one that left all the military equipment, documents, some soldiers, and citizens behind. He didn't give ISIS the (basically) go-ahead to manifest again.

The main issue isn't that we withdrew, it's how we did so. I would also like to note we initially had a semi-decent reason for going over there - we just shouldn't have stayed this long.

And I mean hey, why isn't anyone bringing up Obama? He didn't get us out either, and Joe was his VP.

Because people have been simmering in their anger about the war for almost 20 years. What everyone is currently angry about is this absolute clusterfuck of a withdrawal. That Biden inherited a plan of how to handle (regardless of how bad) and had 7 months to change or implement it. But he instead chose to break a deal and do nothing for 7 months. Not for any good reason. Just because it would give him some nice symbolism to point to. People already know who started the war and why we are there. That wound is old and scarred over. Now we are blaming the people who traded human lives in a failed attempt to improve optics and refuse to take any responsibility for it.

Yeah
People understood the fighting terrorism abroad especially because 9/11 was the big tragedy at the time but where bush lost everyone was wanting to build some democratic utopia in some madmax landfill because muh spirit of liberty

The last time they were in power anyone with technical skills that could be valuable in another country did everything they could to fuck off to elsewhere. There are plenty of less-restrictive islamic countries where you can still get a good wife if you have a stable income and still listen to music. Groups like ISIS and the Taliban basically have three ways of keeping adherents. They have their rank and file low IQ true-believer retards, people they buy off with girls collected from the territories they control, and people they buy off with money.

They don't have enough money to fund an entire professional class, so they are very focused on who they pay well -- that's enough to get some skilled engineers for their core military and tech presence, but not enough for a corps of people to maintain infrastructure. They pay in wives to people who are good fighters who don't have professional skills to make money in other islamic countries where you need money to have a good wife. This also gets them a few good people with professional skills from western countries (where it is hard to get a good wife) who they managed to indoctrinate, but that number is not very large.

Basically they'll have enough people to keep infrastructure around their main centers of power but not enough to keep the country at large functioning. Chinese investment will help, but China has been tightening its purse strings lately, and I think the Taliban will be less likely to fall for the debt trap tactics that the Chinese use in other countries due to their strong beliefs on upholding sharia (and thus opposing usury).

Well lucky for anyone stuck in Afghanistan, Tim pool knows how to defeat tyranny. Everyone should peacefully protest because fighting would be bad optics
I wonder if these principled peaceful cucks are the real glowies lol.

Anytime someone tries something short of the boogaloo, they get called a glowie.

There are no other methods for resistance other than organization.

I’d imagine that Australia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan could see their black markets pick up. When hatred of the government and resistance toward someone is at a high, why wouldn’t an arms trafficker try to make bank selling the tools of destruction? I mean, isn’t this what glowing people and undercover agents dream of?

With how 9/11 is brought up, I can only wonder if someone is going to use the day to wreak some havoc because of course they would. And with how divided the country is, choice of target, names of casualties, and identity of the culprit could lead to worse shit.
