Jesus.

H.

Christ.

Why is this acceptable?

Yowza. All these meanings thrown into one stupid little cartoon show. I highly doubt it's as world changing as they think it is.

(Somehow I have the feeling it wouldn't have been like this back in the day. You couldn't have called shows on CN progressive way back when, not with their gross-out and dark humor, and flamboyant demons...)

I think it's an otherkin thing. As in, these nuts are calling themselves "hosts" because they believe they're gems or whatever inhabiting a human body. Creepy as fuck.
By hosts it honestly sounds like it's some kind of parisite or body snatcher or their landlord or something. They might actually accept the first 2 descriptions though.

fucking hell, this is why we need population control
life would be marginally better without Otherkin, most fandoms, and the entirety of tumblr

It just boggles my mind how there are so many people who act like this about a show meant for kids. Like... When I first saw the trailer for this show, I didn't think "Wow, this show looks so progressive!"

What's even sadder is apparently, if what others said in this thread is true, the show doesn't even strike much of a chord with its intended audience. And the creators now have to appeal to these guys instead to keep their livelihood.

The reactions to the "whitewashing" fan arts are pretty hilarious though.

It boggles mine, too, but these are the times we live in, the times that try men's souls.

Having to appeal to Tumblr to survive is pretty much a sign that you're incredibly desperate, and should either just let the thing die or try to appeal to a different, saner demographic.

It's a "multiple"/multiple system thing with kids who say they have "headmates" living inside their heads or other personalities entirely. They may act like one of the personalities at different times. The host is their gross, actual human self, so I guess this person supposedly has Lapis living in their head.

So the creators had this to say about the fanbase.

So the creators had this to say about the fanbase.

Did they really say that? If so, thank you, creators, you stood up to your fanbase. Unfortunately, you'll have to endure thousands of hate-filled tweets and Tumblr posts, but you're probably fully-functioning adults and thus don't care.

I think that's some weird "CN Confessions" thing on Tumblr.

If so, that's still something you don't hear on Tumblr that often, and that someone had to say.

(Incidentally... CN Confessions? What do you have to confess? That you were turned on by Freaky Fred when you were a kid?)

It's like an unpopular opinion blog or something.
