Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Obligatory Stonetoss.

If you would have turned in their plan for the withdrawal as your plan for the evacuation plan for your post during training as part of HQ Platoon in the 1980's, your LT and NCO would have taken you out back and made you roll in the grass and dirt like a dog for a few days.

It was the WORST example of military planning since... shit... the Invasion of Iraq.

No, it was worse than the 2003 invasion of Iraq. It was worse than the shitty planning for Grenada (which they did with tourist maps).

It's one of the worst failures of American military and intelligence planning in modern history.
Just wait till we see the sequel to this event happen in Iraq.

Expanding on this, I'd make it everyone above the rank of or equivilent to Colonel. Give them a choice, a full pension, plenty of fanfare but their silence, or just kicked out. Put a freeze on new recruits, instead begin an oversight board on everyone left above the rank of or equivalent rank to Major. If they have said anything political, regardless of side, same deal. Once you have the hollowed remains, you aggressively promote up the ranks based solely on duty and merit.

Now do this same shit to all the three-letter agencies.

Left, right, all of it stripped out to leave only something non-partisan.

The immediate problem I can see with this is that it's innately going to be a partisan process, because, well, who are you going to put on the oversight board? Is it going to come down to booting anybody who's said anything which can be construed as political, eg, "I think the right to vote is a-okay," and in what capacity? If somebody records them at, I dunno, a PTA meeting, saying "boy, our taxes sure are high" will that be enough? This process will innately be political - I'm imagining the Biden administration announcing that they were doing this tomorrow, and it's making me feel the opposite of reassured!

The political reality is people will figure it out.

One leak. That's all it takes.
First tell-all book deal out of the Biden WH is gonna rake in the big bucks.

They will Weekend at Bernie's him before they allow him to leave. They will keep up the charade as -long as they possibly can-. He could be literally drooling into his oatmeal as the nurses feed it to him and they won't 25th him. The only time he's out is when he's dead, and even then only when they absolutely can no longer hide it.

As much as people like to call me an 'optimist' in here sometimes, I just acknowledge the political realities. Short of something behind the scenes going completely pear-shaped, he stays in.
How would they do his speeches once he crosses that point of total incoherence?

AI?

Destroy the entire military system.
Lean on drone tech.
Lean on zoomer faggotry.

Dab on Tomato Town as you take over the Middle-East.
Yeet into sweet oblivion as the sand pit is glassed by zoomer autism.

Set up a jury, 6 Republicans, 6 Democrats, House members only. Run it just like a jury, letting each side strike potential jurors to weed out as much partisanship as possible. Require a majority vote on what counts as political speech.

...I log back in 9 hours later and suddenly there are four new Yang avatars..? On top of the like 5 we already have??

So, are all these high speed low drag operators going over there actually going to make things worse or better?

I just have this mental image of them suddenly realizing they have no intel, no support, no extraction, no air support, no backup while they're standing in the middle of nowhere going "Uhhh... anyone bring a GPS?"
The ones that are doing good know the meaning of opsec. They won’t be plastering it on the twatters.

On a more serious note, does anyone know what the fuck is going on anymore? I've heard the Taliban control the airport, but there are still US soldiers on the ground, that there are still Americans left behind, but maybe not that many, and that some ex special forces guys are running in trying to save Afghani nationals. Also that we drone struck the guy responsible for the bombing (if we knew for certain who the fucker was, and where he was, why did we wait till after the attack to do something about it?)

I plowed through the highlights this morning but there's more confusion now than usual in the places I've seen covering it. One thing I did pick up was that the Afghani deaths from this weeks bombings are over 100, maybe in the hundreds overall.
