See, I see it exactly opposite. They twisted arms behind the scenes to force PeteButt (who had won as many states as Biden at that point) and everybody else out of the race. Biden was the one they chose to rally behind. They knew he would be easy to control; he reads whatever is put in front of him, and he calls on the reporters he's instructed to call on.
CIA Pete was probably a backup plan in case Biden dropped dead/really fucked up (like dropping racial slurs on stage). I think the reason they didn't just go ahead and put him in office were the preliminary polls among blacks since ain't no nigga votin' in a white homo, although that might've just been an excuse for some of the Democrat elite. Bootyjudge hasn't shaken enough hands yet.

I don't think much would've changed if Mayor Buttgag was in office, but you'd at least see some leadership from the executive branch rather than Biden just sleeping and Kameltoe's crew hiding her lest she fuck up even more.
I want to know who was twisting the arms behind the scenes to clear the way for Biden. Is it Obama? Who has control of the party right now?
Obama will never have a high position calling the shots in the Democrats because Hillary is still pissed she lost to him in 2008, pissed she didn't help him enough against Trump in 2016, He also didn't do enough Orange Man Bad for the media until 2020.

I can imagine one U.S. civie becoming irate enough to actually take on some of the 82nd head on after being denied entry to the airport.

All that time wasted after waiting in the crowd, along with the pushing and shoving, only to be turned away by your own country's military. The division that you're unfortunately put up with are jarheads, and it's thanks to the incompetent U.S. government that put them there, screwed you over big time, and leaves you for dead.

Who wouldn't want to go postal after that?

leopard 2 is generally considered a fine piece of equipment, among the best MBTs you can have in current year
yet a few years ago when the turks went to war in syria they still managed to get their leopards blown the fuck up

and turk army isn't even particularly high on the goatfuckery scale compared to iraqis and afghans and all those other shitters lol
@Balr0g already made the point, and he's right:
The Turkish military used to be a competent secular, balancing force. When the government got too Islamic they'd step in and stop it. The current leader did a political purge not too long after gettign power and they are now just anorther pack of armed Arabs, where appointment isn't made on skill its made on loyalty.

Still, I don’t think the military has degenerated yet to the point that some red necks with AR-15s and hunting rifles could humiliate it.
You are in this thread my nigga. Are not reading what's going on? How are you making this post with what's going on?
Oh wait right, you said AR-15. Right. The red necks with AR-15s can't but the one who have Romanian AK clones are going to fuck shit up.

It's already happening.
I echo our local NCO's sentiments:
Until I see the dumb bitch's general discharge (not an honorable discharge) I won't hold my breath.
She is a female and if not BLTQ will be declaring herself as one shortly. She will at most get a stern talking to from her company CO. But not too stern, we don't want an EOO complaint.
Keep pressure don't let them bury it.

i know drones have been shot down by insurgents using manpads in the past but i do not know how effective this approach is in general. from my understanding the only way to get rid of drones quickly and reliably is using fighter jets in the air to shoot them down.

Depends on the drone. Most drones are not high performance, but designed to operate in "low threat" environments where the ability to loiter is perferred over manuverability, especially since... If you are sitting in Nevada, the input lag between you and your drone over afghanistan is about a quarter of a second. This does not sound like a lot, but try playing DCS with a 250 ping.
Also, not many insurgent forces operate RADAR installations, making it hard for them to spot and identify drones.

The other issue with drones in a high-threat environment is that unless you go fully autonomous, they are always transmitting. An opponent always has something to look for to locate and lock on.

Imho tanks are getting the same treatment what happened to battleships of old: getting obsolete by the changing nature of warfare.
Won't happen. What really killed battleships was their high crew complement and expense to provision and operate, and then eventually the complete dominance of anti-ship missles & ranging. Battleships were expensive but viable combantants until the soviets got smart cruise missles; all the armor in the world can't save you from that. Battleships even if not engaging in combat affected force-denial; if you have a battleship in your carrier group, the enemy cannot bum rush you with light cruisers.

Anyway, you are - like a lot of military planners, are underestimating the psychological effect of a tank. The issue the Turks had was they understood the psychological effect of a tank but forgot that tanks need infantry support to protect them. Killinga tank also requires a hitting it in is weak points. Abrams were driving through IEDs in Iraq like nothing happened.

What I think you you will see is a symbiotic "drone killer" vehicle that gets deployed with a tank platoon; this might be HK Drones that "mother ship" to the tanks, a separate 'drone carrier' vehicle, or maybe a just an IFV with with AA & flash detection and small-target tracking.

to tl;dr - tanks have been vulnerable to air attack ever since the attack helicopter was developed. Drones aren't introducing a new vulnerability.

How many Afghans will Bill be housing in his mansion and vacation home? How many will be insisting building management be allowed to rent below market rate?
No plebe, not in my home and neighborhood. but you need to get right on that.

Why would the USA invade France?

Cheese.

Heh, fat dyke looking truck driver who's hair is a fad and should be considered out of regs talking about how she'll shoot people.

Bitch, I'll fucking bet you haven't even SEEN your rifle in a six months. I'll bet you've never been away from the barracks more than a day. IF you fucking deployed, Staff Sergeant, I'll bet you stayed in the equivalent of a hotel with a dining facility.

You might talk shit, but rolling down the road?

Ain't nobody help you between milepost 25 and 35, bitch.

I'm having a discussion about this happening and the price of heroin...
I think the price will drop, my buddy says it will spike.
(not fentanyl, or mexican black tar)

Thoughts?

Unless there has been a new place to grow opium en mass that has emerged that can pick up the slack, prices should go up, if only in the short term. I'd also imagine even if opium production manages to stay steady, without corrupt US forces ensuring easy logistics the supply chain is fucked for months. Someone earlier in the thread pointed out opium has a long shelf life, so perhaps price spikes will take awhile to set in.

I hope she has to go back to Afghanistan as part of a mission for the civilians (if the goverment doesnt just sacrifice the stranded) so the taliban can beat and kill her

Sounds like Afghanistan is being 1979’d. Again.
The rural areas were always like this, the Western freakout is about the impending rustication of the cities. They don't care about the goat herders and literal cave dwellers to the west of Kabul in Bamyan, its the second time we have seen this happen in Afghanistan. America funds and develops a cosmopolitan middle class and it gets thrown down by the rural people who live in absolute hellish conditions. The westerners are terrified of this happening in the US, this is why they're so keen on making a big show trial out of Jan 6th, the rural people know the coastal city dwellers hate them and the rural types aren't willing to follow their Christian teachings and just turn the other cheek. They really fear what Trump instilled in these people, the refusual to just lay there and take a beating is not something "Conservatives" are known for. Furthermore, the demographics of Jan 6th have the intelligence agencies TERRIFIED because it isn't stupid university kids who will "grow up" like the ones in the 60s-70s. Its established people with families, with emphasis on military service in the past, that this demographic is willing to throw the dice and riot like that is very unnatural, the Twitter mob is very open about their fear of Cletus coming in with his army of pickup trucks and liquidating them, everyone in this thread has seen the "Christian Taliban" stuff posted for the past month, they broadcast their fears openly. Globalization has created a massive wedge in wealth between those who produce raw materials (rural) and those who consume and the cosmopolitan class can sense the frustration even if they cannot actualize it into words.

All the articles back in the day seemed to indicate that the Taliban kept a tight lid on opium when they were in charge which spiked back up when they were kicked out.
