I never really got the hype around Nick when he started blowing up around early 2019ish. The only streams of his I listened to were ones with Jim and Josh. From what little I've seen, he's a good host; but Nick seems to encourage a weird parasocial dynamic with his audience. I distinctly remember him getting a superberry in a stream with Null where a paypig asked for Nick to pray for his troubles or something and Nick said he would, in a fairly sincere tone.
I can understand wanting to be good to your audience, but I think setting boundaries with them is equally if not more important. Him placating that kind of weird internet daddy persona is why he has people sperg on him for guntguarding when their e-daddy/online best friend who they know super well because he prays for them when they give him money (CHRAHST IS KANG!), and him not living up to their built-in expectations is probably why Nick is where he's at with his audience.
Remember kids, every e-celeb is a mentally ill faggot. No sane person would want to willingly put themselves out there on the Internet for attention like a modern day Vaudevillian sideshow.
