General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

She is a exception to that rule because she doesn't have genmates

Poor Homiestars got relegated to be the poor cousins at least they are better now clocking 1000 or so viewers now compared to their abysmal views they had back in the day, i think the only reason they have not been canned is because they are YAGOO favorite, the girls have got like 5 generations and they have not get anything since what ? 2 years?
I mean, I don't think Cover's at the point they needa cut people off. Nijisanji literally pops out tubers like a Christian mother in her mid life crisis and even Niji's losers are still hanging around, until they quit. As for no new gens, when I hear discussion about new gens I think back to I think it was Boss's comment on support the gens that are currently there. When someone asked him about a gen 4. I feel like that may be the answer, is maybe Cover's waiting for them to establish themselves, they don't wanna flood out the stars still there when they deserve so much better.
Posts like this have confused me lately, how ya'll getting exhausted by content, just stop forcing yourself to watch everything and you're set, don't care for lore vids? stop watching em, don't want to watch a long relay, just pick up highlights after it's over.

This shit aint rocket science but the way folks have talked about the lore videos and the debut relay lately you'd think Yagoo was in their house forcing them to watch it all clockwork orange style.
A lot of the comments about lore vids and the relay was them replaying the lore vid per member, but I just skipped the debut and watched the archives.

Yes, yes we know you like Niji more no need for more discussion on this.
I dunno, I'm in a timezone where all the premieres happened quite late and we were all severely underwhelmed by the lore vids. Most of them could not make it through the 7 or so hour marathon for all the debuts and pretty much all except myself only keep up with council through clips and memes. Hype burnout is real and I'm sure in a few weeks they'll start watching council streams too.

This is why I don't force myself to stay up and watch things that'll be archived. Unless it's Sheep or Uto, but that's a conscious choice based on how much they mean to me.

Hell, I could argue that all your oshis would be mad you're not properly sleeping. I know sheep cries over most of the things Watamates go through and tell her about.

I disagree.

I think when that Prelude countdown came out, everyone was expecting that to be the reveal trailer. I ended up sleeping through it, but I came back to a thread and twitter full of people confused and annoyed that it wasn't what they reasonably thought it to be. Then the second video happens and it shows them as silhouettes, and mmist people by this point are moreso just wanting them to hurry up and get on with it, which I think is why the third video came much quicker.

Everyone watched all 3 videos whether they were interested in lore or not because they just wanted to watch the would-be reveal trailer. You then have a 7-hour relay, followed by their first collab dedicated to more lore. By the time this finished it was 3am-ish for me and the relay started when I was making dinner. Sure, that's my responsibility, but I also wanted to give them a fair shake live because it's a different feeling watching live and in the moment than watching VODs in the background the next day.

I think the execution was overdrawn and has marred my desire to follow through. I am waiting for them to play games I'm interested in so that I'm more inclined to give them the chance I want to give them.

Yes, yes we know you like Niji more no need for more discussion on this.

The topic is specifically on how I felt burnout from how they handled their rollout. In this context, I unapologetically like Niji more. No discussion necessary. You are correct.

even having watched the debuts live I only watched the lore vid once that day, I just tabbed out of the stream whenever it was playing. it's an under 2 minute video x 5 for each girl = less than 10 minutes of time. You could just as easily treat it as there was a 32 minute break between each debut. I don't give 2 shits about the lore either but the sperging seemed/seems disproportionate about it.

all 3 videos are under 2 minutes long, if 6 minutes of uninteresting video are enough to tire someone out I don't know how they make it through most stream intros.

I just played Pokemon Unite between debuts and lore vids, Yuni got me hooked.

Also, it seems Rushia cut her latest stream mid way because she have trouble breathing and vertigo. GWS.
Interesting update (or not) from this, her roommate tweet this a few hour ago after the stream.

DeepL : I want to change my erratic lifestyle... I feel like my mind and body are becoming unstable! ...I need to get a grip. (( ฅ ´ω` ฅ)) slowly slowy (sfx)

It may not related and what happen is really her physical condition, but it can also be stress that make her body act up. It's not a secret that Rushia is more than a bit mental and troubled. Still, for once the message is hopeful and aim to change. Compared to her messages so far that's mostly all doom and gloom and a step away from the noose, It seems she's slowly getting better. You go, pettan girl. You called yourself the dragon friend, so don't give up! You need to take and secure the throne of the most SC girl until Kson challenge you for it back.

Despite everything, all the anti and the fuck up, I think Hololive is really a good thing for every Holomems. Not to mention financial aspect of it like how it help Subaru after her house burned down, or Korone who can give her sick mother a better medical care. The emotional and personal growth they all experience is invaluable. People like Aqua who wouldn't thrive anywhere in real-life entertainment business - now found her own place she belong. Failed idol like Kiara given a second chance. Haachama that come back to stream because she get to talk with Coco and Kanata. And Rushia right here. I don't know the behind the scene of course, but I think being in Hololive with friends who do care and understand her does help a lot.

Which is why I still think it's a shame about Aloe. Had the yab come a bit later and she have time to form some friendship she can rely on, or she weather the storm and hang on, she would have been in a better situation that she is right now, back in hospital for mental breakdown. Do I think the yab will happen anyway had it doesn't happen on the first week, yes and maybe even worse, but she would have someone she can share and rely on. It might have been different.
Well, the yab did happen, and her mental state wouldn't allow her to stay anyway, so all of this is but a sperg at "what-if" scenario that will never happen.

3 videos over the course of 3 weeks is the bigger factor, not the length of the videos. People were anticipating EN2 for 3 weeks, so by the time they were revealed, it was more of an 'about fucking time' rather than the pleasant shadowdrop HoloMyth had. That's all entirely on the execution and leadup.

I was getting hyped in this thread with everyone else when they were debuting until I zoned out of their collab and woke up not really feeling it. That's all. I don't really care for the tired 'We get it you prefer Niji' crap anymore because it wilfully ignores every time I've spoken fondly of Holomen. I was just mulling over why I felt the way I did about Council in particular, and have surmised it was down to how drawn out it all felt.

At this point, with two rollouts of Niji being the quick in-and-out 20 minute brief intro, and a collab immediately after that, I'm ending up liking that structure a bit more. Most of the Niji's ended up doing their own extended, expanded intro afterwards anyways. Plus, with nerves it's much easier to fuck up the timing on a full hour long stream then it is a 20 minute one. Definitely have to give the win to Nijisanji on that one.

So Amelia is sick and apparently having a (possible) allergic reaction to something...and her health insurance only kicks in next week? Does Cover even offer anything to their employees at all for benefits? Or did she have to buy her own (ouch)?
Interesting question indeed. With JP, Japan has very robust and good national healthcare service, kind like NHS iirc, so they have that base covered. But I wonder how they're going to take care of EN. Healthcare in US is pretty damn expensive, right? Assuming, of course Cover gave the holomem healthcare benefits. I guess we must see how talent/idol jimusho treat their talents healthcare for comparison or reference

(By the way, yes Indonesia also has their own national healthcare. But its not even something that people can call 'decent')

Dumbshit numberfag news nobody cares about, Kuzuha's pretty much set to hit 1 million subs this week (roughly 4-6 days as he's pretty consistently getting 2k subs per day), becoming both the first Nijisanji Liver and seemingly the first male Vtuber to do so; overall an arguably major accomplishment.
Its interesting that one of Japan biggest VTuber takes quite some time to get the 1 Millions subs mark, and this is also Niji's first. Not gonna lie, I thought they already have some, especially Kuzuha. I wonder what differs between Niji and Holo (ie. Gura) in regards of the sub count. Why Niji is so slow on it?

edit:
so NIJISANJI ID about to hold this kind of thing. is this a new thing in NIJI? can't find one by googling?

Strange, pretty sure not a lot of people in Indonesia even have the PC and VR set for VRchats, much less stable enough internet to play it. I wonder who this is for? Kaigainikki? Is NijiID even that well known outside of Indonesia (with the exception of Hana)?

Sounds more like a Vanity project to me, honestly...

Yeesh. Those are some rough game choices. Passpartout might be good but I haven't vibed with Mumei (or anyone else but Kronii) at all.

Hakos' is pretty solid, though. Man, I don't know why I just feel totally burned out from HoloEN since Council launched. I've only watched Kronii's 12 Minutes stream and a bit of Mumei's Journey and that's it. I don't really have that same drive to watch them as I did with HoloEN1, NijiEN, or Gen 5.
Strange you would say it, lol. Isn't it the Niji way to just "stick with whoever you like"?

Exactly lol I don't consider that an own. Plus, unless I'm a schizo I could've sworn I said I was excited about the previous Holo gens so it wasn't even like a company vs. company statement.

Yup, and I uphold that with Holo. Can't figure out if I like any of them if I don't feel like watching them due to something out of their control, though.

So I'm kinda waiting on them to play games where I'm like 'yeah I need to watch this one'. There are games that I love seeing people play that springboard into me watching them more often.

Hope that makes sense.

Well.. yeah, their first collab sucked lol. Have you watched their Gartic collab? Skip the 10+ minutes of EN curse at the beginning and it's a lot more fun.

Anyway, in general, it's interesting to hear how different everyone's viewing habits are. Personally I subscribe to pretty much every VTuber I could have an interest in, and prioritize streams by a combination of subject matter and person, subject matter generally being the larger factor. If nothing's live that catches my interest, then slowly pick things off my "watch later" list.

That's generally how I play it as well. There's a few who I definitely 'prefer' watching (Amelia typically being the one I'll prioritize over others for Holo-EN) but I try to make it an effort to catch a stream from everyone every once in a while. I'm also trying to catch more of the Niji-En streamers too.

I haven't. Today has been a really busy day and I've only been able to listen to music.

In my case, I also subscribe to everyone I might be interested in, and then as the months go on I figure out who I'm not watching at all and unsub. The only exceptions to this are the Indies I subbed to after AZKi's 72h marathon, as I subbed to them for their music and not their streams.

This isn't exclusive to Vtubers or anything, but I generally watch videos of anyone I'm interested in the first couple weeks before finally deciding to subscribe or not. I wanna make sure their content is something that I will definitely look forward to watching. It's tedious, for sure, but it's what helps me filter out channels better.

There ARE Vtubers that I'm interested in but their content is always ever Apex/Minecraft, I just don't even bother trying even though I like their personalities.
