Well it's official, the coof has officially made it in my home. I was curious what that strange cold I had a couple of weeks ago was, and it turned out to be fucking COVID. Now I have to get swabbed and miss work for two weeks after the fact now. It felt nothing more than a bad cold to me, the part that was bizzare was losing the sense of taste and smell. Though that returned after about 4 days or so. My remedy was cold medicine, Vic's, plenty of sleep, and Gatorade. Delta has been blowing up where I am at, so that was more than likely the strain I contracted.

Though I won't know until I get swabbed if I am still positive or not. My roommate ended up getting sick the same time as me, and same deal with my roommate basically. Though when my roommate ended up having to grt tested because of being exposed to someone with it. 3 weeks after the fact they still turned out to be positive. So yeah this shit does spread quick. Though the Delta seems to be what we all suspected to be and having first hand exposure I can say that it is evolving into nothing more than a bad bout of a seasonal flu. Some people it tears into for a month or longer, others it's a bad week or so.
Though it seems to me that the virus dominate strain is getting weaker, so herd immunity might kick in faster. They will attribute success to the jab until the cancer rates and all of the irregularities start to become more evident in the upcoming months. They have to make a boogyman out of these new strains, because BOO COVID c.197! The strain that makes you Troon out and fuck your mom.

In all seriousness though, natural immunity seems to be our only way out at this stage. Plus trying to explain you can't vaccinate for the common cold to people that think gender is a construct tells me everything I need to know about what a monumental waste of time it is. I am not encouraging people to actively catch it, but if you do, there is a good chance you'll be fine on the other side of it. This was not a constructive response in regards of the disruption of the free market, social order, and the supply chain. This was the big bad scary that I keep seeing forced down my throat. Thank God for this thread and all of the fine people that have been contributing over the last 19 months.

To be frank, that feels like the standard NHS response to most things. Back in the 90s my dad got a horrendous infection. His GP prescribed the weakest generic antibiotic on his records and told him to come back in two weeks if he didn't improve - by which point he would have been dead. He only survived because we went on holiday to Germany around the same time, and he had to visit a local doctor because he started going down hill; the doc prescribed a super-strong antibiotic. he had to pay for it (german national healthcare is quite a thing), but it did the trick. How much of the problem was that GP in particular, and how much is the result of NHS culture in general I couldn't rightly say, but the culture of wait-and-seeism is definitely a problem in the service at large.

Twitter is now trending "Rand Paul" and promoting a smear campaign against him, depicting as a crazy crackpot. Rand has been plainly stating that Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine were suddenly removed from decades-worth of essential-medical treatment plans and WHO guidelines, ever since Trump spoke about these medicines last year.

I posted this a few pages ago, but Japan has officially adopted Ivermectin treatment after seeing 90%+ success in preventing and treating COVID-19. The proof already exists. What could anyone possibly gain by still calling a WHO essential medicine "horse dewormer"? Japan, India, and other countries have proven it's saving lives. But in American media, Rand has been on the media shitlist ever since he started questioning Fauci, and pointing out his financial gains from COVID-19, so this is only the latest smear campaign.

And they said they literally changed their stances because they were afraid of being associated with Trump in any way? late february-first week of march i was telling my parents every last (then-known) detail of how covid was an overblown flu and they were like "yeah people are retarded". then the party lines were set in stone and they instantly forgot every single thing i told them and accused me of being brainwashed by evil right-wingers as everything i told them beforehand got proven right over the following month but of course that's because i was "thinking in the right-wing way"

my dad works in a hospital (that he himself said wasn't seeing unusually high admission numbers) and told me what the hospitals were up to before this was even widely known by skeptics (second week of march or so), but when i told him on the spot how "died with" and diagnosing based on symptoms is retarded as shit he just blankly stared at me and said "they're professionals, they know what they're doing and why would they lie?"

So a bunch of subreddits have locked down because not everyone will embrace the New Normal. A lot of them include rando controlled main name pages for media, like PokemonGo and StarTrek. Apparently they won't reopen until r/NoNewNormal r/conspiracy and r/conservative are banned.

Why must we make everything political? I feel like writing some of these companies to tell them to take over their reddits since it's such a miserable way to have part of their audience being treated. At the least if they want to ban us, then I would know not to support them, but a third party blocking a topic over such reasons is just assinine. I wouldn't bring up an unrelated topic in a fucking video game, no matter how important it is too me.
