Taliban offensive of 2021 and collapse of Afghan government.

You know if the US had left at least half of what we basically gave to the Taliban to the Afghan military things might've gone much differently.
when people mention all the stuff "left behind" by burger troops, they aren't talking about burgers actually going "oh look at all these vehicles and guns, let's just leave them all in this base we are abandoning now"

no, what happens is that all this equipment was afghan army property, sitting on afghan army bases, for use by afghan army troops. but said afghan army basically just decided to completely disband itself immediately when the taliban started making moves, that's how all the goodies ended up with the jihadis now

Hahaha, to number 4.

The evil that pervades us fears those with heroic contempt for worldly attachment more than anything else.

I'm increasingly convinced of the theory that at some level this is all intentional degradation of America's dignity. I can only hope people know better where the blame lies, and to the extent we accept it for ourselves, recognize letting the (((global free market))) control our culture and our institutions is the biggest thing we've to be ashamed of.

This changes the equation. Now there's a good chance he'll get a medical retirement should he be diagnosed with PTSD. A handy diagnosis, especially after multiple combat tours.
It's also a very kind thing to do, of a sort. If you support him but know politically he's going to be run out of town on a rail, you could get him in the medical retirement system, keep it gummed up for long enough that he qualifies for his 20 years and full pension, then quietly get him a medical retirement. All the while any political operatives like that woke faggot general would be placated with "he's in a nuthouse it's fine he's not going anywhere."

4D Chess? Trump demanding we go back in for the foreverwar, committing acts of War against the Taliban might just ensure Sleepy Joe doesn't.

It's over.

Fox News reporting US officials stated "Afghan War is over."

Taliban is in control of the airport

Last plane with US troops just left Afghan airspace
And we're...pretty much right back to exactly where we were in 2001.

Well, maybe not entirely. Back in 2001 the U.S. hadn't completely ass-fucked its reputation in front of the entire world.

back in 2001 the taliban were also smaller, less well organized, and considerably less well equipped
They still had plenty of old left-over Soviet tanks and armored fighting vehicles. Now the new stuff they have is primarily MRAP's and Humvees.

Now they're claiming they evacuated the "vast majority" of US citizens.

Leaving even one behind is a disgrace.
Leaving behind any who wanna leave anyway, the Taliban allowed US civilians who didn't wanna come back to stay from what I understand. Some Americans might wanna keep their loot and stick around rather than coming back to wokesville
