Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

There's a bunch of New England hills that somehow have swamps on top,
This happens where moisture & precipitation accumulate faster than it can drain off. Especially in temperate or tropical areas that already receive a decent amount of moisture.

It also has to do with surface area. A "swamp" can drain like a funnel into a narrow stream which has a similar volume of water, but instead of confined into a linear path maybe 4 feet wide and 1ft deep, its spread out to like 2-8 inches over a wider area. The water does drain downhill, it just "organizes" itself into creeks and rivers as it does so.

So Honolulu has decided to implement its own version of vaccine passports, calling it the Safe Access Oahu program. They also hint that mandatory ass jabbings will be implemented 60 days afterwards, if the numbers are not "good" enough. Sadly, I don't know of a authoritarian nickname to Honolulu or Hawai'i, that would roll well off the tongue as Commiefornia does.

i love the government.png

So, if it works they'll keep doing it because it works but if it doesn't work (which it likely won't cuz Delta) they'll just mandate it. Very cool.

Hold up. I had someone tell me today that he thinks "clearly (your) facts are wrong" and "(I) had a friend go into the hospital and he saw how scary it was".

My statistical analysis is shattered. Someone said a hospital was scary guys.

Edit: OH! Now I'm really concerned. He had a friend you see. He was vaxxed and now has a mysterious autoimmune condition. HoW coULd CovID hAvE DoNE THis.

I can't recall any sort of nickname either, because it's never been California bad.

Hawaii Restaurant Association President Greg Maples encouraged people to still go to restaurants, many of which are still recovering from financial hardship over the last year and a half.

“Don’t stop eating at your neighborhood restaurants. If you’re not vaccinated, and you’re not going to get vaccinated, go get takeout,” he said. “We need you, we need the business.”

Hahahahaha REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE UNVACCINATED SCUM but uwu please support us anyway. Pathetic. Fuck it, just cook at home. Protest with your wallets. Cheaper anyways. Also

The Safe Access Oahu program does not include grocery stores or farmers markets

Which are no different than any other indoor establishment, so what's the point, it's still going to spread anyway.

Officials said that the liquor restriction is needed to cut down on late-night trauma cases related to drunk driving.

Lol not going to happen, da locals loooooooove their booze. They'll just buy it during the day.

From the /r/Hawaii thread:
They should add public transportation to this list.
God, what is it with people who clearly don't ride public transit on a daily basis, or at least not on ghetto routes thinking it'll be that easy? Drivers have to deal with enough shit as it is for what they're paid.

i guess in n out loses its novelty pretty fast when you actually have one near your house and didn't just get to have it one time when you were at disneyland
Yeah, the first time you're willing to wait almost an hour for "fast food" in stop and go traffic but after that it's not at all worth it.

Shit's delicious but you can make a comparable burger and fries in less than half the time at home. I think the last time I had In N Out was at least 6 or 7 years ago in and there's two of them near me and the drive thrus are always like 10+ cars long. Dining in does not make it faster, btw.

Get a California burrito at a scary hole in the wall instead.

Spoiler: it's not going to work.

And what I wonder is meant by mandatory vaccinations? Some shit hole countries seem to be moving towards forced jabs, or is this just the usual 'no jab no job' bullshit that places like Jew York have brought in? I thought a place like Hawaii would already have done that?

Here in Victoria we had 76 positive cases reported, still zero deaths. The Chairman of the ruling party, and it broke his heart having to say this, announced that even if everyone gets the jab he won't end the lockdown with case numbers so high. Victoria will have to cope with a 'pandemic of the unvaccinated' when we do open up. Even though the expectation is that when we reach 80% double jabbed most Covid will be among the vaccinated it will still be the unvaccinated's fault that it's spreading. Anyway we'll need to get down to single digits to make it manageable. TLDR we'll be in lockdown for many weeks to come.

In NSW another 1200 positive cases with 3 deaths. Lots of sperging about vaccination but they won't be mandating vaccines for health care workers. Not because they're playing nice but because the nurses and paramedics have powerful unions and having 20% of your health care staff walk out would collapse the system. Gladys discussed opening up, they'll end the lockdown when they hit 70% double jabbed and let cases rip seems to be the plan. They'll also be opening up to international travel, no quarantining for the vaccinated. What does this mean? Essentially the rest of the country is going to close off Sydney and New South Wales, it will be easier to visit Sydney if you're an American or Brit than it will be for me. What a fucking shit show.

It could be either, although it would be funny (and horrible at the same time), if it's an "either you jab, or you get The Wall" deal. Have any shithole countries actually resorted to doing that, just so they can count the splattered wall remains as one less case to pad their numbers?

In general, I'm pretty sure shit would hit the fan if that happened, regardless of race. You could maybe pull the white supremacist/domestic terrorism excuse or something for whites but I feel that's really stretching it. Any other race would scream muh racial injustice probably.

For Hawaii specifically, I also doubt that. Since it's a small island, everyone practically knows each other or knows someone that knows someone that knows someone, etc. so nepotism is pretty rampant. (*cough*unions*cough*police*cough*) All it'd takes is the blood of someone with close ties to someone important being spilled before a shut it down goyim.

Has anyone seen footage of packed ICU beds, or Med/Surgical floors in the news since Covid was ass raping Italy? Cause I sure haven't, I understand Hipaa could present a problem in that regard, but you could just blur out names and faces. At most you get a panning shot of ICU rooms which are usually closed off and private, and give no real indication of whether they're occupied or not. So we're just supposed to take the clearly biased opinion of medical staff willing to talk to the MSM as gospel, even after they've been exposed as liars countless times?

In response to that spastic lady @NoReturn posted, Yes the flu can swamp hospitals on a yearly basis. Not to PL too much but a facility I worked at had a year in which the flu wiped out a good portion of our elderly patients(which imagine that geriatrics are typically the ones in medical facilities regardless or what care level/practice that facility is). Hospitals are routinely bombarded with flu cases on a yearly basis, some years more than others, and its not odd for a hospital floor to be full regardless of the time of year especially a surgical floor. Hospitals for years have imposed restrictions on children visiting during flu season regardless of flu vaccination status, typically under 14's are not allowed past the lobby. I'd be willing to bet half the "stress and extra work" these tik tok nurse's complain about came from the added steps to care that came with covid; Those being needing to put on isolation gear every time you enter a room, and sanitizing surfaces as you go, it doesn't sound like much but it adds a lot when you have to do it for every room/patient.

Nah. China's been doing stuff to twist people's arms without them committing an actual crime for years and the rest of the world took notes.
Social credit score too low? Guess you're not going to be allowed to use the bullet train anymore or in our case, no jab no non-essential services and in the worst cases, no job.

Heilwai'i?

I really want to know exactly how they're planning on going about the mandatory vaccinations they're threatening and how they're planning on defending it legally...
