I love it. I always have. Like tipping websites and content creators has been around forever. And I mean in an internet kinda way. Obviously I know about Patronizing. But like I remember waaay back when websites just had a paypal button. Or would ask you kindly to click on links. I dunno how many people ever did. But now with Patreon? Probably loads more. Why? Because you get something now! For fuck sake. Everyone understands this. Loads of free game developers from when Phil was "white hot" knew that if they wanted people to pay for their game they had to sell special editions with extra stuff.

Its the most basic idea in the world Phil. How are you this fucking goddamn dense.

This is what happens when a mildly retarded narcissist accidentally stumble over a success, and suddenly finds himself making six figures.

Phil never evolved beyond his 2010 mindset: NEW GAMES! Da FIRST to play them! And the money rolls in, right?

From Phil’s perspective HE DID NOTHIN’ WRONG! He did everything correct! He’s playing the newest games, just like he has always done. WHERE IS DA MONEY?!?

BUGGED LIFE AND MONEY MECHANICS DOOD! Nothin’ he could do!

What he doesn’t understand is that the world has changed while he’s still stuck in the past.

Add to that a touch of autism, narcissism and living like an E-hermit, and you get a Phil who doesn’t understand WTF is wrong. “I’m having FUN playing this game, but kahntributions are low. (Sigh) It is what it is I guess!”

Phil legit seems unable to understand that his viewers might not be having fun when he’s having fun.

Nothing here makes sense for Phil. He’s doing what he’s always been doing, he’s having fun. But money isn’t coming in as fast. WTF is happening?!?

Reminds me of the time he freaked out at the suggestion he and Kat should cook a meal and go eat it at a park for a nice cheap day out.

He said, and I quote, "I'm not exagerating. I used to make thousands and thousands of dollars on Twitch but now I don't make that kind of money anymore on YouTube."

Uhhhh what? You what? That little slip of the tongue had me almost pulling over while driving in this morning. If you remember he has gone on record saying he hasn't made any kind of big lifestyle changes since about 2018-2019 when Kat moved in. My question is, why did he need to do all those marathons and fundraisers—with the same goals and rewards, mind you—over on Twitch? Where the fuck did all those "thousands upon thousands of dahllahrs" go? Wouldn't he have to raise the tip goal more than fifty dollars, stream more to make up for that lost income? All those times he cried poor and how he made next to no money on Twitch, other than subs and cheers, what was that shit?

Likely talking about vest streak as for a portion of 2020 there was no dedicated begging streams. Plus an individual vomiting their wallet’s contents onto him.
Need to think like Phil to understand him.

Honestly, I think he needs someone like that the most right now. Someone who cares enough to tell him to knock his shit out and actually try and be something other than a toxic presence. Especially someone who he can't just avoid permanently, and who can actually leverage him to change.

Unfortunately with all the bridges he's burned and how little he seems to care about anyone, himself included, he's never going to not be a cow.

You can’t teach a lolcow to change its ways. (Or well, you can but then they’re no longer a lolcow!)

And Phil is probably the last one who’ll ever change. He has spent a decade in social isolation, constructing his own psychological Fort Gout.

You are on the right track but he is not having fun. He hates what he does for a living and it oozes through in the playthrough. I don't think he has legit enjoyed a game this year and even his dentheads are noticing.

He wants money to sit in a controlled environment where people lavish praise on him when he complains about a game, and nod their heads at his increasingly fence sitting takes. He is confused to why that is not happening.

I think this is a case where a person that is confronted with opposing facts to what their world view is. You would think they would adjust to the new facts but instead they retreat deeper into their views. Phil is this. He is getting push back for his long term shitty behavior so he swerves deeper into his shitty behavior. "Apologize for what?" He is becoming increasingly divorced from reality and this will only continue. The belief that he will take constructive criticism and improve should be long since dead in people's minds. Just my take though.

Phil will never change cause his ego will not allow it. As far as he is concerned, "I did nothing wrong. I did everything correct." is the motto for his entire life and anything or anyone who dares to say otherwise will disowned, no matter what. I'm sure if his parents actually knew how much of a failure their son was and attempted to help him they'd be disowned as well.

The only way to "help" Phil is to strip him of everything he values - his money, his property, and his illusions of a "family". The only way to save a narcissist is to break them completely and start over from zero.

I doubt very much that he missed payments on the Washington condo. On the CT condo, I could absolutely see him skipping a payment (prior to when he ceased paying at all--April 2019 or so).

Edit: Remember on his bankruptcy form as well, he included his HOA fees in the mortgage payment, which is why it was something like $1800. Take off $350 or so for the HOA fees, and you get to about $1400-$1450, which lines up with the payment estimates. The payments would fluctuate with the changes in property tax as well--given that his property's value went up, the property taxes would too, and the mortgage payments would increase accordingly to make sure the escrow covered it.

The HOA fees are listed separate but on the wrong line.

Hmmm, wondering what Phil is doing on his day off.

DSP has always been a pile of shit. His videos have always sucked. Back when he had friends and left his house things were as bad or worse as they are now. He's not capable of self reflection or self improvement so being around people isn't going to change his behavior. Knowing all that, it's better that he isolates himself, so no one else has to interact with him. The time for socialization and all of that has passed, he needs serious therapy.

Like, the very first story he made about her was that they met at a park and started talking and bonded. This would've been even before the escort saga when speculation was that Phil was trying to date his hairdresser or some shit. If I can find it I'll post it.
