Conrad Aaron Collins / Diginée / Digibro / Digibrony / Otaku Gonzo Journalism & the Pro Crastinators Podcast - Pedophile, Two-Faced Weeaboo Ponyfag Youtube Analyst Who Wants to be a Loli + Drama, Friends & Enemies

Tbf, Don only really appeared on Digi's channel in late 2019, shortly before he went full retard. I only knew of Don via Sam Hyde, I had no idea until now that he worked with Digi (albeit briefly).
Fair enough. Sometimes I forget this is KF and people are in this thread as onlookers, not necessarily former fans.

Conrad is above average intelligence, no doubt. There is an old phrase that is very insightful, that an idea can be "so stupid that only a highly intelligent person could believe it." To make a car analogy, if intelligence is the pure power of the car, then knowledge, education, experience, wisdom, prudence, and taste are elements that help form the steering. The Conrad-car has solid horsepower, but it is spinning out of control, constantly colliding with walls as running over obstacles that damage the undercarriage.
Agreed. Conrad isn't a midwit, but that's what makes his situation worse. The resurgence in comparisons to Chris (blue hair and an unhealthy attachment to his mom notwithstanding) are so poignant because with Chris you see someone who is so thoroughly broken by his own self-reinforced delusions and never really had a chance to be reared in an environment that wouldn't properly discipline his poor behavior. Conrad has no excuse. Up until last summer, he was (to a point anyway) living as a functional, self-sustaining adult who bragged at times about how he was making a middle class income from Patreon alone. Aside from owing the IRS five figures in unpaid taxes and engaging in a degenerate feedback loop with May, who really was the beginning of the end for the Digi "brand" in retrospect, he wasn't actively making the worst decisions possible and then convincing himself that he was a genius after the fact.

The cracks really started to show in 2019 when Conrad began his routine of being high/crossfaded at every waking moment to the point that it began to affect his channel metrics. His videos didn't start getting suppressed by the algorithm because of the loli bullshit (though it did hurt his image as an anituber irreparably), they started getting suppressed and ignored because the content was just bad, sometimes completely unwatchable. It never occurred to Conrad that he should stick to his guns about being some marketing genius who can gain YouTube's algorithm, but instead doubled down on shitty weed-fueled anime videos and unlistenable rap tracks because he's just so wholly convinced of his superiority.

tldr Conrad was a reasonably intelligent person at one point but has since dug this hole he's in for himself.

Good to see Nate isn't dead. Still gotta watch it, I'll give my opinion later if anything interesting draws my attention.

I think you are confusing intelligence with eloquence.

He certainly has the gift of gab, and while that itself is an aspect of intellect, it hardly means you are intelligent, specially when everything you do and half of what you say is retarded. He simply started talking early in life and his hippie parents decided he was a genius and basically indoctrinated him into thinking so as well, because he is their "special little boy, I mean girl, who doesn't fit the mold!"

Good video for Trekkies, but nothing of interest that'd be relevant to Troonibro.

Nate really distancing himself from the bullshit.

There's some confusion. Midwit does not mean "Dimwit". Dimwits are below average. Midwit means a person who is above average, but not a genius.
The term was coined by Vox Day. Full article: https://archive.md/hxfSD

Holy shit Digi. Even in your own music your taste sucks.

Please. go to 2:13 in this song. What the actual fuck is this. Not that the rest of the song is better but, Fuck. He actually thinks this is good.
This shit is hilarious. I'll probably put this on next time I need a laugh.

Also love how first track he wastes no time bragging about spending all his money and not paying his bills. C'mon IRS, this fool's still getting at least $600/month from the suckers fueling his drug addiction. Take your share Biden.

Here is 2020 in full.

I don't think it's wrong to say that digi is intelligent, he has shown in the past that he can be analytical and articulate, but his laziness and narcissism gets in the way very often. He doesn't have very strong emotional maturity, so he often takes actions that satisfy his emotions/ego in the short term, even if it's not the most intelligent response.

Those terms are not mutually exclusive; you can be good at piecing together your thoughts and putting them into words and still think, believe, and do the dumbest shit imaginable.
That doesn't necessarily mean you are not intelligent though. You could take a 200 IQ genius nobel laureate and brainwash them into thinking the sky is pink, that doesn't mean they are suddenly 70 IQ. Digi has demonstrated considerable intelligence through the use of his verbal reasoning skills. Making an immense number bad decisions and frying his brain with drugs doesn't invalidate that history.

Are you guys all prior fans of this faggot or something trying to argue he's intelligent? Speaking well does not equal intelligence. What has he demonstrated? How he can breakdown stupid anime cartoons plot and characters made for children? How he can talk for a really long time? None of that denotes intelligence.

The guys problem solving skills and choices are fucking bonkers. Even when he was at his peak he wasn't doing anything special with his channel and never cracked half a million subs.

He's a dumb lazy delusional pseudo intellectual bitch, then and now.

This is just my observation, but it's usually the slightly above-average special-snowflakes that end up trooning out. The average person is not into computers, anime, or genderspecial troonery. In fact, most troons look down on the intelligence of such people who are not as "open minded" and "cultured" as them.

The emphasis is on being SLIGHTLY above average, he's not smart enough to do anything of value, he's just slightly smarter than, say, white trailer-trash, so as to give him some unwarranted sense of self-importance and false sense of genius. That, and it's always total nerds who want to be "rappers" despite having zero connection to the hood. I mean he's literally an anime fag, street gangs would eat him alive :story:

I don't disagree with you, but rather I'm referring to present-day Digi in particular, who now seems pathologically incapable of making sensible decisions anymore compared to the Digi of 2016. Him trooning out, frying his brain on every recreational drug under the sun and destroying a (mostly) lucrative seven-year career in the span of six months wouldn't have been as depressing if I among other ex-fans didn't think he was smarter and more dedicated to his craft than the contemporary big anitubers of the time.

I was listening to some archived Digibro content from the golden age, as it were, and I really think Digi has gotten stupider since he shacked up with May. He was still articulate back then and could argue his points well, but the covid conspiracy shit back in early 2020 led me and a lot of other now ex-fans to seriously question his intellectual competence.

It's probably more accurate to describe Digi as articulate rather than intelligent. Those terms are not mutually exclusive; you can be good at piecing together your thoughts and putting them into words and still think, believe, and do the dumbest shit imaginable.
I mean.. I can certainly see why people might believe Conrad to merely be charismatic rather than intelligent..
my personal opinion is that Digi is in fact above-average in intelligence (and I strongly dislike this man at this point.. for me to even begin to list off the reasoning behind my disdain for him would be a novel in itself). But there have been many essay-type longform videos Digi has created which provide ample evidence of him having moderate intellect. It takes more than simple charisma to create a prosperous and successful Youtube channel off of long-form video essays on anime, considering the niche topic he covered (especially considering that anime at the time of Digi's peak in growth/peak in quality of content was still much less popular in the west).

There are many Youtubers/Twitch streamers who find enormous success through their natural charisma and charming presence. Charisma is defined as "compelling attractiveness or charm that can inspire devotion in others". While I do believe Digi has (or maybe had) some perceivable innate charisma, personally, I always enjoyed his content (before he began his downward spiral, anyway,) because his work was oftentimes thought-provoking and well-researched, but mostly because I found it to be intellectually stimulating. Logan Paul, Pokimane, David Dobrik, Shane Dawson - these are decent examples of content creators who found abundant success due to their charming nature and natural charisma. Digi's viewer-base was mainly comprised of (certainly not all but in majority) individuals who enjoyed anime yet also enjoyed his content as he spoke on a niche topic in an intellectually stimulating manner. It was always, and continues to be, extraordinarily difficult to find content creators who create longform video essays on anime, wherein Digi would pick apart series, critiquing their lacking aesthetic, poor storytelling, shallow character development, and flimsy foundations/ideologies/symbolisms/etcetera, etcetera. When Digi enjoyed a series he provided commentary on all the aspects I listed but in a positive manner, providing an intriguing and sometimes profound argument for those series he held within high regard.

I think it is much easier to look back on Digi now and think of him as little more than a moronic, stagnant, lackluster, entitled, egotistical, lazy creep - and describing him as all of this is putting it mildly these days - but those such as myself who were viewers during Digi's prime remember, with fondly depressive melancholy, a time wherein he actually was capable of pumping out numerous well thought out, well structured, intellectually invigorating content on a monthly basis. Sadly, its been some time since that side of him died off. There's only so many times you can see a guy who's work you once admired posting pictures of his shriveled fem-dick in his mother's short-shorts before all prior enjoyment of his past work is washed away from your memory. Digibro post-mortem is indescribably tragic, man.

That's just my long-winded opinion, though. As I said before, I completely understand where others are coming from in feeling that Digi merely got by on eloquence/charisma alone.

I think that articulate, but not intelligent, is
a good descriptor for Digibro. Look at his Neurotyping chart. It's meaningless fluff and pretty shallow analysis, not really original, and not based on any actual research, but it's incredibly detailed and his videos on it are interesting. He's glib and entertaining, but I wouldn't describe him as smart.

His Neurotyping was around the time he started to go off the rails imo

A lot of his essays before that were solid (or "smart"), he did a lot of deep diving into Hideaki Anno, going as far as to pull from Japanese exclusive interviews that he had to google translate to form his perspective, and while I agree that a lot of his stuff was largely opinionated, that isn't to say he never did some research. At the very least you could say he had and drew from a decent knowledge base of earlier eras of Anime, eras most people in the millennial generation didn't touch. You could give him credit for not just watching the bog standard shows that were guaranteed to get hits but were ultimately passionless. He hit it big with those shows, but it was the more obscure stuff that kept you listening if you were looking for something different.

It's easy to forget because anime is so degenerate and cheap these days but the earlier eras of anime really had a lot of craftsmanship to them. The atom bomb was of course a central theme in most of the imagery and storytelling, and he did a good job of putting a spotlight onto them.

I would almost say the Neurotyping video was one of the first signs to me that something was going wrong with him. I would be interested to hear others opinions about this, what did you guys feel was the first "sign" that he was losing it?

A lot of his personal video logs were skirting the line, but it seemed well enough, but I really remember that Neurotyping video giving me this weird vibe the first time I saw it pop up. He would post dense essays often, but it was the first time it really felt like he was so far off the woodworks that it was near schizophrenic noise. And it was all down hill from there, screaming about fucking kids on the Dick Show and we all know the rest.

Neurotyping seemed like the flag to me.

Digi's confession on the Dick Show was way back in April 2018, long before the Neurotyping concept was a thing (early 2020, I believe):
"Digibro Calls in to talk about the Pro Crastinators, the end of the ISMA Podcast, and Loli-Gate"
53,624 views, Apr 8, 2018
Archived (360p):

The confession is at 30:03 in the video.

It's an interesting video to relisten to, for those who want to remember what Digi was like back in 2018, such as the nature of the PCP back then (Digi stating they wanted it to be more like RedLetterMedia's "Half in the Bag"), his then ongoing drama with Mumkey Jones and dealing with Bardock Obama's smear campaigning against him over his defence of lolicon. It's interesting that he once respected what the power of Patreon and other ways of fans' support meant for his career, that he could weather the storm of feuding with Mumkey and Bardock Obama with his fans' support. Hell, he even mentioned that he could just get the emails of his fans from his Discord if Patreon no longer platformed him (22:50); that's no longer possible, thanks to him ragequtting from his own Discord.

It's also curious how Dick's fans were perfectly comfortable with what Digi was saying back then, but they would later both disown Digi and turn on Dick last year for practically the same defence for lolicon the two men made; look at the likes/dislikes ratio had for that video in 2018:
1630777484034.png
and now compare it to the fallout from the 'Cuties' rant video:
1630777611765.png
Did Dick's fans just get tired of his brand of loliberarianism between those two years? Considering most of Digi's and Dick's fans are (I assume) Americans, has the increasingly polarising political culture there meant that Dick's extreme laissez-faire approach to the depiction of sexualised illustrations of any kind is something that the (American) Right no longer wants to be associate with?

The flag that Conrad had lost his marbles was him flirting with pizzagate and covid conspiracy theories. And hearing his "Befriending the Internet" rambling was when I asked myself if he had truly become mentally ill ... in a way he hadn't always been at least.

His neurotyping bullshit was just the culmination of the arc where he solved politics, economics, society, and the human condition from his metaphorical basement during the "Meta Hole", "Gekko Estate" and "Whirling Dervish" time. That was just Dunning-Kruger to the max from an overinflated ego on weed. Party pop-psychology like that is produced by the metric ton. He reason he came up with it was probably even partly because he thought he could sell that meme and become a kind of cult leader. Before it there was the autism scale and before that the more general idea that the universe somehow revolves around autism. Whatever he had lost at this time (mainly a grip, however loose, on what he can and can't do) he had lost already earlier when he decided he's too much of a genius and and artist and an artistic genius to waste his time with talking about chinese cartoons.
