reddit General

Well boys, the milk has soured. Put away your bottles and prepare for the coming happening where moderators get their unwarranted egos even more inflated.
To be clear, COVID misinformation IS a problem and NNN should've been banned for breaking Reddit's rules on brigading alone. Banning other antivax content is something I can understand from a mainstream platform.
However, validating powermods this way is disgusting. I hope all degenerates reddit admins get their civil war asap.

This post gave me the most insane deja-vu. Did I see it before? Did the timeline shift based on this reddit decision? Is this a save point where the world reloaded after it ended because of a butterfly effected caused by reddit not-banning NNN?
I'm scared.

My favorite was someone pulling out a wikipedia article and just going "Oh no, it's my old high school teacher, lol!" when I countered wikipedia isn't even a good way to find sources anymore. I can't think of many other communities in need of a good wake-up call.
The original founder of Wikipedia has basically totally denounced it as a mess of politicking on anything remotely controversial or relevant to current events, and this can be easily seen looking at the edit history of any given article. COVID for example is a doozy. It was certainly a dull trope in the early-mid 2000s to dismiss any information you might have found on the internet, but we're at a point in society (and control of digital media) where the authority has gotten so lazy and corrupt that it simply cannot be trusted, and the idea that suddenly the dominant power is now infallible because of "science" is the most absurd thing imaginable. Merely indicative of these people's sore lack of higher religious faith that they place so much importance and weight in institutions and their propaganda.

No and this is bullshit. NNN never brigaded, and if they did it was individuals working on their own, not coordinated by the subs on Reddit to go after another sub like the rule was intended to be used for. Posting an “I got banned” post isn’t brigading. Commenting on a sub that bans NNN users isn’t brigading. Disagreeing isn’t brigading. One person commenting on their own in a mainstream coronavirus oriented sub and saying something mildly rude isn’t brigading nor is it misinformation. Brigading is (and always has been) when an entire sub gets together to spam downvotes, comments, reports, “”””harassment”””” at another sub. They post gore and “uncomfortable” content (from the mildly weird to the illicit) and make the sub uninhabitable for the people posting there. See: r/AgainstHateSubreddits (they’re known to coordinate spamming cp) See r/ChapoTrapHouse (before it was finally dealt with).

Covid misinformation is not a problem. Questioning mainstream science is not a problem. Questioning a narrative is not misinformation. Questioning authoritarian lockdowns and excessive data collection by the government and monitoring isn’t misinformation. Questioning forcing people to take an experimental drug that’s shown to have awful side effects and then show I’d to enter a supermarket isnt misinformation. That is what around 95% of what NNN was- not “vaccines make you magnetic”, not shapeshifting reptiles not “autism is caused by vaccines”. The idea that people discussing (not even protesting, just talking) about these things is misinformation is fucking absurd.

If you’re a literal retard and drink bleach or aquarium cleaner then you get exactly what you bought and paid for and the world is better for it. If you refuse medical treatment for a medically treatable communicable disease then you get exactly what’s expected. Why should any site crack down on “””misinformation””” ? Who decides what’s misinformation? Who enforces it? I get that private businesses have the right to do what they want with their property and can restrict any type of conversation they want but the idea that they have a public duty to babysit the masses Bc anti vaxer Karen decided to put potatoes in her babies sock instead of getting their baby’s deadly flu treated is fucking stupid and is actively making our society dumber.

Top hats and puzzle pieces to the right but I’ve about fucking had it with this circular 2 in 1 circle jerk and firing squad. I’m absolutely aghast at the idea that young mother’s and fathers can (and will!) be refused access to buy food for their kids if they don’t show a form of government Id. I’m horrified to give this vaccine to kids 12 and over that makes people’s hearts swell and their blood clot and their babies miscarry. We’ve shit down the world economy for a year and a half, people haven’t been working landlords are t getting paid (by government mandate) and they can’t evict.

How did we get here kiwis? Like what wrong fucking turn at Albuquerque ended up here?

edit: double posted

A better argument would be that abortion is a type of eugenics since Planned Parenthood intentionally places their "clinics" in poorer neighborhoods.

I thought you guys were pro-eugenics. Right wing beliefs on abortion make no sense. Why do you want sloppy, penniless degenerates to have more children? Waaaaaah but the baby! A fetus can't suffer. It has no sense of self or memories or sentience. Unlike a 5 year old they let old men fondle for crack money, or whatever the fuck. I'm literally pro-abortion. It's the ethical way to prevent more suffering. Unwanted babies bring more poverty, more crime, more child abuse, more welfare--out of your tax dollars. It's unethical to force any of this, but encouragement? Hell yeah. You guys are working against your own goals.

Lol, Reddit admins are cucks. I hope they realized the gravity of what they've done. They just told the biggest powertripping faggots on the internet that they can get whatever they want, so long as they throw a big enough hissy fit. The next jannie rebellion is going to be juicy.

So guys, what do you guys think should we do to seb and N8 anyway?

Part of me thinks Texas is gonna cave just like the reddit admins did as soon as major corporations, sports teams, and all that other shit start pulling out of it.

Keep in mind, it's never about feelings with these people. It's only about money and power.

The moment their wallets starts taking a hit, and they think that their powerbase has just the slightest chance of toppling, they're gonna backpedal.
Well of course.
It only takes two brain cells to understand the stupid conservative hypocrisy.
Abortion? No you must birth the child, no we won’t help you after it’s born, that’s socialism!
Vaccine requires to enter McDonald’s? Waaaa, my body my choice!
Absolute retards.

Considering how much dumber the left has gotten than the right, if the right are retards then what, you're a particularly mindless fungus?

It's a bit difficult calling the right out when you have no position left that isn't a swizz cheese of inconsistencies and lies.

Wikipedia is less bad in French. Some articles are still full of wokeshit, but that's less true than on the English site.

Not gonna happen. The Texan government might actually treat that as a good outcome because it means less Democrats are going to come in and colonise the state.
Why do you want sloppy, penniless degenerates to have more children?
Because all lives - regardless of how rich or white you are - matter equally.

This isn't exactly what the hysterical people on reddit are arguing about.

They're not genuinely concerned for the people chugging chloroquine or insisting on their constitutional right to lick door handles. That much is obvious when they spam "I never thought leopards would eat my face" and cheer when these people die.

Their main issue is they think these people are, essentially, oppressing them. Every time someone doesn't wear a mask or complains about social distancing, their concern is only about themselves. They're scared of catching covid and dying, regardless of the fact that they're pretty much going to catch covid no matter what and they're probably not going to die or develop long covid (worth noting the long covid community on reddit is basically just a bunch of munchies larping at this point). Nobody should be allowed outside because it might negatively impact them. They don't want control measures relaxed until covid is entirely eliminated and the risk of catching covid is zero (which isn't going to happen), because they don't like considering their own mortality, and insist that every time someone so much as goes for a stroll they're prolonging lockdowns.

Hence there's also an element of control - it was most obvious during active lockdowns where people got hysterical about someone sitting down on a park bench (that's not a valid reason to leave the house!) because it was validating to make the normie stacies and chads live like a shut in redditor while the redditors patted themselves on the back for "saving lives").

This is ultimately why they lose their shit the most at people suggesting that, much like all other endemic illnesses, we'll eventually settle for an annual death toll (even though that's what The Science is suggesting). Why they downplay the social and economic consequences of doing lockdowns long term, and why they characterise people suggesting that "continuing to do lockdowns into 2025 is a bad idea" as selfish bastards who personally want to stab granny so they can have a pint down the pub. Why they dismiss people pointing out that during lockdowns not everyone could work from home and how working from home is only sustainable with thousands of people personally stocking Amazon warehouses, making food in takeaway kitchens and delivering these purchases to those WFHs.

Dissent is essentially a narcissistic injury to them.

I'd forgotten those types are surprisingly adept at pulling out articles and studies that happen to support their position, and how swiftly they dismiss any sources you cite as "illegitimate" or "improper methods" or "misinfo".
When your entire worldview is structured around the most surface level information that Google makes sure is at the top of every search, it's pretty easy. Conveniently this is also in the unspoken definition of misinfo: if it's not on the first page of google results it must be fake.

What is strange, is that you don't understand your hypocrisy.

Yeah, got mad and made the mistake of arguing on a reddit-adjacent Discord (I know, I know) that banning r/NNN was a dumb idea.

It is literally not worth anyone’s time to argue with Redditors, because Redditors are subhuman and therefore their opinions have no value.

Y'know that one kid in school who always seemed to take great pleasure in the petty bureaucracy of the classroom and took an odd amount of pleasure in reminding the teacher that we all had to do homework. The souless weirdos who say shit like "I used to love School as a kid! I loved being in school." They became the people who always followed The Rules. Covid gave them an ample oportunity to punish people for not following The Rules just like they used to do in school. They never had any actual conviction or morales. So they let the system think for them. Those people had to become Reddit moderators or Discord Trannies before. Now they can feel powerful IRL by punishing people for not following The Rules of Covid.

Nah, I just liked homework because I'm not a dumbass and my home life was fucked up. Also if the teacher forgets you just get double homework the next day (but I repeat myself: I'm not a dumbass)
