Just to add to what you're saying about hospitals being overrun by this, it doesn't even take you having one of those serious medical emergencies to get fucked now. Because of a COVID outbreak (i live in constant red/orange county) the local hospital had to shut down it's behavioral health floor, AKA the locked ward where the crazies are kept. Around here you better not have a mental health issue requiring an involuntary hold, because of COVID there are 0 beds for someone in that situation.my local hospital released an infographic last week showing that they're currently at 142% inpatient capacity and 160% icu capacity. the majority of those numbers are made up of the unvaccinated who decried big pharma until they dipped under 90% o2 sats and suddenly they needed big pharma to come rescue them. that leaves the actual, serious emergencies like appendicitis, strokes, septic infections, broken bones, malignant cancer, etc. to wait while staff are forced to babysit cletus and the welfare gang.
