For what its worth - It doesn't take much training to drill in how to keep up an AR style weapon either. The Taliban with slightly more brains will probably make use of them, while the speds and "muh family rifle" guys will stick with AK's. Its not like they have an organized logistical chain of operations requiring standardization, they're just gonna use whatever each fighter is comfortable with.
I'd also like to touch on the helicopter fleet and how they'll keep it up - Mechanics in poor regions have a reputation for jury rigging just about anything to run, and the people operating them tend to be happy to forgo a ridiculous amount of safety provisions. Fly-By-Wire systems tend to be ridiculously redundant, and when the fancy stuff fails and they fall back onto old mechanical fuckery, the pilots will just brass ball it all the way, they probably don't give a fuck. Flex tape and Fanatacism will keep those aircraft up for a lot longer than people might expect. Doubly so for a group thats likely already used to rigging and maintaining their own vehicles.
That being said, we'll probably get a few clips of taliban aircraft dropping like bricks when someone does fuck up. They're not likely to be following every step of the manuals.

I can't wait to watch the seething when the Biden administration almost exactly copies Obama and accomplishes almost nothing of consequence with near total control of the government. I would say they have accomplished almost nothing good of consequence, but a great deal bad of consequence, in less than eight months. We can only hope for some relief after the 2022 elections, and to get President Trump back in 2024.
It's stopped cold and I don't see it going again, least in any good way.
