So has anyone been able to find a Japanese urn (that is: an urn of Japanese origin) as cheap as the cookie jar? I 100% believe you can find urns like that in the west, but try as I might, my google-fu can't seem to find any from Japan. Even when I use terms like "cremation," "standard" or "cheap" or "discount."

None of this adds up. Even their pet cremation urns look fancier. Am I missing something?

The closest result I got was from AliExpress, and I doubt that's what they use by-default in Japan. (And it still, somehow, looks better.)

I don't know what's been discussed here in full but do we know if Byuu lived on a US base if that's an exception?

Do we know if this Hector is or isn't Byuu himself?
This is relying on knowledge from like, 500 pages ago, but Hector is a well known individual in his field so he is likely not a byuu sock. As for the US base, byuu/his family have no military connections as far as I know, so that would be a no.

The Cookie Jar is a Shirotsubo or 白壷

lupinuskuyo.com is the only webstore I could find that sells those urns with a wooden box and a white cloth

The funeral homes seem to offer fancier covers to put your plain cookie jar in.

edit: シンプル骨壷 gives better search results, including amazon listings.

Apology To Mr. Hector Marcan

I called in some of my contacts in mercantile shipping, and it seems we've been wrong all along. David Kirk Ginder (known on the internet as "Byuu" or "Near") was registered on the ship's manifest of the Okama Daio, a Japanese research whaling vessel, as a cabin boy. At the time of his unfortunate passing, the ship was in international waters - that is to say, not in Japan. Further, as it was past the International Date Line, while the time in Japan was June 27, the local time was actually July 1st, and thus ineligible for the quarterly report being passed around on sites such as this one.
Due to the lack of sanitary facilities aboard, Mr. Ginder's mortal remains were processed by the onboard rendering plant, resulting in approximately 1200ml of spermaceti oil. The so-called "cookie jar" urn was actually filled with this oil. The bereaved family intend to light lamps with this pure, clean-burning natural fuel in commemoration of his all-too-short life.
As the Okama Daio was involved in whaling research that is considered highly controversial in some countries, Mr. Hector Marcan was simply keeping these unnecessary details private in order to spare the family unnecessary scrutiny. On behalf of Kiwi Farms I apologize for the scurrilous attacks made on his credibility.

"Byuu, owes me a soul." ~Satan, probably.

lol apparently some fucking idiots on r/emulation are trying to keep the "Internet Illuminati" villain image of KF up by claiming Farmers are buying themselves gold and flooding reddit with accounts? Literally no evidence, as per usual.

Reminds me of that idiotic diatribe Byuu went on trying to paint KF and its users as a bunch of sadistic anime villains before he fake an-hero'd. All that talk of KF treating lives as a "game" with anheros being "points" was so fucking disconnected from the reality of this site being a gossip forum no different from Twitter chains talking about internet figures with the exception of organization and allowable topics.
Literally what would that even fucking accomplish?

"Oooooo watch out we bought your stickers! You're in for it now!"
These people are so addicted to their fake internet clout they can't conceptualize thought processes that don't involve it.

This whole situation is actually depressing. It makes me feel bad for Byuu.
>Nobody knows or cares who Byuu is
>He allegedly dies and blames the Kiwi Farms
>Suddenly A LOT of people knew and cared about him and were lifelong fans of bsnes and accurate emulation. Kiwifarms must pay for this!
>Time passes, nobody talks about him anymore.
>There is evidence he's not dead. There is hardly any evidence that he is dead. Still, nobody talks about it. It's only mentioned when someone brings up that he might be alive, then "lifelong fans" sperg out and start talking about how the farms needs to close
>You will never see a correction on this because nobody actually cares. They only care because this person's alleged death would be the key to ending the Internet's Boogeyman.

This guy is important to the game preservation scene. It's depressing as hell that people only cared about him because he was a useful tool to end the Kiwifarms. Since that failed, he might as well not have existed. Damn.

Also I think Hector is Byuu.
(EDIT: Got the Twitter fuck's name wrong)

I wish I had the horrifying rating, because the implications behind this are not good.
Literally Wikipedia:

So now that Byuu is "dead," does that mean anybody can use his emulator source code for free? I only ask, because, well: kek!

People literally give interviews with newspapers just to correct their wikipedia pages (Neil Degrasse Tyson).

Wikipedia is basically just mainstream news. Even worse, CNN is ranked higher than books and prestigious academic journals.

Christ, whatever happened to Wikipedia? Did all of the original mods and operators leave or something, leaving troons like GorillaWarfare to rewrite the rules willy-nilly to help out their troon friends?

This shit actively undermines Wikipedia as a whole, every article written under this policy is only going to get more and more obviously biased and slanted, basically providing misinformation to whatever person reads it, which kind of fucking goes against the entire point of a comprehensive encyclopedia meant to inform.

Wikipedia used to not be trustworthy because any random teenager with too much free time could vandalize an article without anyone noticing, now, it's untrustworthy by fucking design.

The future is people creating news sites just to edit wikipedia... well, the present.

This has been the way Wikipedia has worked forever, its always been beyond shit. Everyone seemed to get amnesia over that.

Wiki jannies are also incredibly degenerate but they are also so boring that you need level 10 autism diligence to actually bother following or chronicling their shit. I guess wiki kinda does it already anyway.

On the other hand - do numbers on State Department's page look like the amount you'd expect? 26 overseas non-natural deaths of US citizens for the entire world in June? That number... it's terribly low...

This is an interesting question, the number does seem kind of low. That said, a couple of points:

1) Using car accidents might be a bad metric specifically for a large portion of expats these days. A combination of remote work and city planning that does not require a car in a good portion of other countries probably biases against that group specifically being impacted by this kind of death as much as you might think.

2) I have to wonder how many people get serious injured and live long enough to end up transported back to the USA for further treatment, which might bias against a lot of ultimately deadly circumstances showing up as if they die in the US as that wouldn't show up in this report. To be clear I don't know that, just something that popped into my brain as a potential mitigating factor.

Someone else brought it up as well, but these are deaths that get reported, not total missing US citizens (who are probably dead) so that probably biases against a lot of almost certainly unnatural death causes ending up in this report.

Finally since you got my autism bug going I checked the Japan numbers going back to 2015 to see if the current 2021 numbers at least match up with prior years that are confirmed as data complete, as well as the trend year to year.

2020:

2019:

2018:
deaths2018japan.png
2017:
deaths2017japan.png
2016:

2015:

So far it's been a bit of a slow year in 2021 but not out of line with 2016, for example.

People keep on bringing up this idea that Byuu was apart of the army in such a way that his death wouldn't have been reported on the US Department of State's report. But it literally makes no sense, he had a prolific career in development which would require him to have a laptop, a laptop which the army probably wouldn't issue to him, epically for his own projects. Even if he had access to a laptop for reasons outside of developing his emulator and he was caught developing his own projects on said laptop he would probably be discharged in a heartbeat. Let's also point out the fact that there's no base around where Byuu presumably lived. With what we know so far, we know that Byuu's father, Terry Lee Ginder, served in the Navy from 1978 till 1982, but it doesn't mention where he severed. Though that wouldn't warrant enough of a reason as to why Byuu wouldn't show up on the report.

Though I want to bring one thing up, Yokosuka has a Navy facility and the town will often have members of the Navy roaming around it. Pretty cool but it isn't really relevant.

It absolutely makes zero sense for hector or the other dipshit who claimed byuu worked for him NOT to show proof byuu is dead. For 1,Byuu actually wanted proof of his death released. 2 They want to demonize and blame KF, providing proof would likely bring more hate to KF, and many opportunities to rub it in our face that we are wrong (which they love doing to ppl when they actually do get something right). The only viable explanation is that he has no proof either because byuu convinced him he was really necking himself or he's going along with byuu gayop. If byuu actually killed himself, something would have been found by now confirming it.
