Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

I've been picking a lot of normie chatter that is expressing sympathy for such 'extremist' groups. It's always couched in ambivalent phrasing that gives them room to retreat, but it's there. A lot of "It's too bad only ⚡⚡some people⚡⚡ think we should help lawful Americans before 🐵criminals🐵 and ✡️foreigners✡️." Talk about Trump not going far enough, questions about who and what the officials and agents are serving, real roundabout mentions of lampposts and such.

It's pressure building, and the Cathedral and (((elite))) are turning up the heat and welding all the release valves shut.

I recognized I can be a dummy about attaching faces to names so I specifically didn't get a career dependent on visually IDing people and shmoozing with them and shit.

But they can't go back. That's the problem. Once you decide the govt has the authority to tell you what to do with your body MBMC dies. It isn't selective. It doesn't matter that abortions aren't contagious. It being contagious is immaterial to the legal argument. That's the problem I'm having with steel manning that particular position. It doesn't matter when life begins, it doesn't matter if this was The Black Plague. If the goverment can force you to do something to your body than they can prevent you doing something to your body. It's quite literally a two way street.

Completely agree. Once government is involved, there's no backing out until it all comes down in flames. But like @Garm mentioned, it's convenient for them now. They're not concerned about what happens later because they can't imagine how their decisions can backfire . When that does come to a head they never put it together that they fucked up by allowing the first incursion.

It's the same way Harry Reid's removal of 60+ votes in the senate for approving judicial appointments came back to bite them in the ass. They wanted to push people through with a simple majority in the senate and Mitch McConnell used it to great effect when he got his chance and all the dems could do was cry about it. A reasonable solution to this problem would be to rollback the change so that 60+ votes acts as checks & balances but the lesson everyone learned was to gain and hold power by any means necessary, even if it burns the country to the ground.

The same could also be said for Biden not honoring the original withdrawal argument. They were only concerned about themselves and their present benefit. It's mind boggling to us that they would think that failing to meet a deadline that was on paper would somehow be A-OK. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the US at any point went back to negotiate an extension. The administration just decided they'll just extend it to Sept. 11 and no one would have any problems with it. I don't think anyone would have faulted the administration if they said "we need extra time for this, this, and this (and not just to have a parade) and we're willing to provide you with these benefits as a trade-off".
