Not a consoomer find so much as a prescient anti-consoomer /bugman warning from something published by the mathematical theorist, activist, and philosopher Gilles Chatalet back in 1998:
"The citizen-thermostat-transparent creature of tertiary services, billiard ball inhabitant of a society free of both 'archaic' social conflict and confrontation, pleased with himself for existing only as a cybernetic tapeworm perfused with inputs and spewing outputs.
It is no exaggeration to speak of a cybernetic warden in relation to the thermostat-citizen who knows that 'communication is the cement of society' and that 'those who have made the clear maintenance of the channels of communication their business are those who have most to do with the continued existence or the fall of our civilization.' Worry not! The warden takes very seriously his role as thermostat: that of analyzing the external temperature of the environment (the inputs of opinion) and possibly producing 'feedback' by sending outputs designed to reestablish equilibrium, to the make the Great Campus optimally productive. Resplendent in the Sunday best of human rights and free will, our tapeworm-citizens flatter themselves with having driven out 'barbarism', with having finally attained the ideal of the weak."
The entire book this is taken from, "To Live and Think Like Pigs", is worth your time if you want to see an example of someone calling the future of middle class "culture" long before it reached present day levels. He does this just by drawing the 80s and 90s economic trends to their inevitable conclusion. Even the short intro rails against something he calls "The Techno-Populist" which nowadays is recognizable as a hybrid of the consoomer and Elon Musk fan.
