#Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

I woke up this morning and noticed a Liam stream going on and dipped into it. He was complaining about how he's been treated, same song and dance. I turned it off.

The most horrible fact is that this isn't a parody.

The writer only needed 1 fucking page to make readers hate the character which wouldn't even be bad if it was an actual villain.

But you read this and think "I hope he gets killed!". Not a good look for a character that's supposed to be a hero.
 
I think it's time for Comicsgate to have its own IBS Apocalypse type stream.

Ethan should host it and have everyone on that has any beef with anybody. Just a good old shouting match where everyone gets on and it becomes 6 hours of garbled nonsense.

Inglorious Rex looks pretty good art wise. The purple monster guy looks like a cross between Doomday and Parasite from Superman. Storywise, I’m not really digging the mma thing. the premiss of the story looks like it was lifted from this movie right here:

if he did it to where the story would be a tournament arc like the way they do it in manga comics like Baki then maybe I would warm up to the story a little more.

That being said, I think that I will still give the book a chance just for the art.

I have to side with Zack on this one. He is not into CG drama only going after twitter SJWs. As you can see, Zack rarely interacts with anybody CG outside of Ethan. And this thing with Donal Delay, we get it. He stole from you but, there’s really nothing anybody can or wants to do about it since he is still getting work. So basically, he is living in your head rent free and laughing while you are attracting negative attention to yourself.

Just take this as a lesson learned and focus on growing your own brand instead of trying to hurt Donal’s. He‘s already doing that with how insanely late Cash Grab is.

Zack's business was screwed with twice by Kickstarter and Mark Waid. People like me paid to help support him and it was and still is a big topic of discussion.

Yet when my business is screwed with I'm told to just move on? I don't understand why people say that.

All these years later people still discuss Mark Waid, Antarctic Press, The Last Jedi, Mags, Renfamous, but if I mention donal it's "old news who cares?".

Why does he get a pass from everyone? I don't understand.
 
i suggested you move on because I think going after Donal is hurting you more than it is benefiting you.

You‘ve told a lot of people about him. If they still choose to do business with him than that’s on them.

As for Zack, no he does not get a pass. Especially over here, that Mark Waid situation cost Zack a lot of fans because of how it ended. That lawsuit set a precedent for the industry as a whole in that just because you are a big wig you can not gate keep someone from getting into comics without consequence. Zack also bilked a lot of people out of their money on the Gofundme from that lawsuit and they felt let down when he just walked away from it. With you, it was Donal not paying you for your writing. Which is fucked up I agree but, it’s not on the same level as the Waid lawsuit. I see this kind of stuff happen all the time on Twitter and in Facebook groups. If word gets around on the offending person from other people who are spreading the word aside from you who didn’t get paid, than that’s different. Now, other people are doing the fighting for you. But if it’s just you that keeps bringing it up, than it starts being a bad look because you don’t really have anyone else to back you up like that.


Sometimes, you have to pick your fights.

Isn't it with 'Kaiju' though? Sounds like it's Arena meets Pacific Rim.

I'll give it a pass since Arena is basically 'generic 80 American martial arts movie' meets 'generic creaky sci-fi film'.

And I would hope that Shane can stage a fight a bit better than Arena:


That's from 1989 too, more than a decade after Star Wars, and years after ROTJ, Aliens, Predator... there's really no excuse for looking like that in 1989.
