Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

And remember Petraeus got forced into retirement after he innocently said he had only met Obama twice in two years which obviously raised some eyebrows since he was in charge of fighting two wars on his behalf. McChrystal on the other hand got drummed out of the service when he gave a Rolling Stones interview where he said everyone in the military thought Joe Biden was an idiot.

Except the "young" people are in their fifties and sixties. One would assume these department heads would be yelling at their millenial underlings to do better or for that matter, these people would bypass Biden and make quiet, competent decisions like remaining (or at least dismantling) Bagram Airbase to prevent a total rout, not carelessly abandon it and fail to inform the puppet government to assume ownership.

For the record, McChrystal is such a bitch that he endorsed Biden, the man who effectively got him fired, in 2020. I recall reading somewhere that he has an astounding amount of corporate positions as well.

Just in case you made the error of assuming that he is any less of a corporate hack than other modern generals.

For the culture version of this, whisper GamerGate around our journalist elites and watch them descend into a twitching, gibbering mass. 7 years on and they still won't let it go -- there's even a documentary film about how EVIL GamerGate is for daring to question their betters coming out next year. Even the GamerGaters have mostly moved on, only keeping track of things to make sure the wokies don't get too uppity in gaming.

GamerGate, Sad Puppies, Trump... it's a sad theme going on with these types. The second they're told no the person telling them off becomes some sort of superhitler who represents all the evil of the world and must be destroyed, no matter how many windmills they must tilt at.

Wasn't Petraeus a potential pick for the Trump admin at one point? He seemed to actually want the job unlike McChrystal and has kept his mouth shut since so he couldn't have been all that bad, but then again looking at how many of Trump's picks turned out to be complete hacks and that apparently Feinstein and Graham thought he was a good pick he probably was another Trojan horse.

I think the Biden admin has gotten away with Afghanistan if these planes get off the tarmac with a quiet payment or something. Its barely even considered news even after over a week. The Taliban would have to start killing everyone on them for it to even start registering on the news.

No one has resigned. No one has even admitted anything at all went wrong. For voters this will, a year from now, just be thrown on the mental pile of bad things and then they will vote D or R like they usually do.

Well. If you're too autistic to use a $10 plan B pill, a $9 female condom, or a $0-$8 dollar birth control pill, or make sure the guy who has to COOM wears a $1 condom and instead you let a guy COOM without one, you really have only yourself to blame.
