Byuu was a has-been he stopped making emulators years prior. People have suggested he'd radically improve N64 emulation but even by his own words he wasn't a big fan of the console and didn't know what he was doing. He was very much a person who made something impressive 20 years ago. The only thing this suicide hoax has done is make people think he was this savant-tier programmer who was just on the cusp of releasing some big emulator breakthrough. When in reality he was a script kiddy who was in his 40s, depressed, divorced from his husband and attempted suicide multiple times. Who wouldn't have made anything even if he wanted to.

Not necessarily. I posted this suggestion a while back and I’m glad people are looking at this page.

However, these databases can be up to 6 months behind. It really depends on the Embassy. Most of these are entered in manually and unless it was Embassy staff or a high profile individual, it can take those 6 months.

They are also known to retroactively add deaths. Buuuuuut, this is looking much better to proving the suicide was a hoax.

I would give it until Nov 1. If it’s not in there by then, it’s a hoax.

I’ve contacted the embassy requesting information on David and I’ve been told they have nothing. (Which doesn’t mean it didn’t happen, as explained above).

I also think that's the main reason people are against it. I first found out about KF from a polish friend of mine who basically said "it's dangerous if you're not careful, but that's the internet." and the rest I gathered my own opinion of through being here.
I can imagine if I was a twitter user and all I ever heard about kiwifarms was "theres people in this forum harassing me and they call me slurs and leaked my address because I was gay, heres pics of their stinky threads" along with like 30 other people saying the same thing, and that was my first impression, I probably wouldnt be too quick to defend it. That being said they're still wrong but it's really unfortunate that they were kinda doomed to hate on KF the moment they learned of it.
