Never going to happen. The Feds have been pushing to lower the reporting limit for Form 8300 from $10k down to $5k for literally years now. The banks have staunchly opposed it because of the cost burden associated in complying with it. Not just the banks, but business in general, like car dealerships, manufacturing and others where cash transfers or transactions can easily exceed $5k a day. Now, imagine having to report on every bank account in the entire freaking country with a balance of a meager $600. The infrastructure and manpower to do this isn't there and would have to be absolutely tremendous in order to do so. And you don't think for a second the Feds are going to fund this, do you? It will cost banking and business trillions to comply with an edict like this. As absolutely inept as the IRS currently is, this would require a huge influx of systems, people, budget for them to even begin to manage this amount of data.

Add to this that the whole reporting $10k thing was started in the 1970's. It's purpose was to catch large cash transactions used by the cartel laundering drug money deals. Half of Miami real estate was bought with cocaine cash in those days because it was easy to launder via real estate. The Patriot Act added the ability to discover funding terrorist networks and to a lesser degree. Reporting was to the FinCEN (Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, part of Treasury, NOT the motherfucking IRS!) The same office that publishes the list of "bad actors" that every bank has to check and due diligence on for every mortgage they write, every major loan, all in the name of "muh terrorism and drug money." The IRS somehow inserted themselves in this process and now hope to be able to monitor every fucking penny in your bank account. If you do your own taxes, you likely realize they now ask explicitly about any money you have in foreign or off shore bank accounts.

Eviction is very slow and requires court orders. You'll start seeing the effects in 2 or 3 months. It's hard to get cops to cooperate with an eviction in the best of times, so I'm wondering if there will be mass non-compliance.
