Old School Runescape / Runescape / /r/OSRS / /r/2007scape - Teaching the Economics of Prostitution since 2007, Proof that Memes never Die, Venezuelan Farming Sim 2k07

Hey @HiramTheGrift you should add something about Rendi. He's an OSRS Youtuber who became famous in the community for being autistic enough to be the first to kill Jad with a level 3 account. What makes him special is two things:

1. Shortly after he got the level 3 fire cape, he spent a couple thousand dollars on expensive cameras and electronics so that he could translate his "unique" editing style into something that could be livestreamed. His project ended up failing, with him only streaming a handful of times with his setup.

2. A few months ago, he started a video series where he and a few of his friends abuse bugs in the game for fun. This caused the 2007scape reddit to lose their shit and accuse him of duping gold to sell for real world money. AFAIK he never duped anything, but that didn't stop the reddit swarm from aping out.

All in all, interesting guy.
Here are his socials:

Also, real-world trading. That's a big thing rn.

I tried coming back to it on mobile, but what's the point when jagex has a built in rwt system? (aka, buying a membership token and selling it for millions)

So, Jagex relented and said that they're opening communications with 117 (creator of the HD plugin) and Adam (creator of RuneLite). As the post notes, they just opened a "bridge", so the plugin isn't released yet, and Adam does also note this:

117, on the other hand, is more hopeful and less skeptical (or maybe Jagex asked him to do some damage control too):

This still can go either way. It would be a huge bitch move from Jagex to not allow the release of the HD plugin still, but it's an option until it's...actually released. We'll probably see tomorrow or the day after.

In a shocking turn of events also (since this thread is about the community), people are actually being skeptical and having a wait-and-see approach. Some choice comments:

(this post makes my skin crawl)

Personally, as much as I love Runescape. I despise the Old School runescape game and community itself because of how shit it is.

Originally I went on OSRS to do pure pking via high range, str and super low def and whatnot, of course it worked, then eventually moved my account up to be a zerker and guess what I encountered? Third-party pking bots that got me killed, making me lose like 120m and I quit osrs and went back to rs3 to just finish up what I left off, with attempting to get 99 runecrafting and that new archeology skill which I haven't touched at all.

Also Arch-Glacor was much easier on hardcore.

As for Runescape itself? I think 2007 was the worst time to go back to, I would've preferred if they did 2009-2011 runescape, otherwise known as RS2, god I miss korasi rushing back then.

Also pic-related in-game.

I'm trying to re-make a 474 client/server (RS before the grand exchange), but the XTEA keys aren't working. I've been trying to solve that problem for a while. If anyone knows about RSPS development, I have several questions.

I don't know much about Runescape other than what I hear by proxy, but from what I understand, a big issue now is clan raids. The agreement is a bunch of people get together and try to beat a boss, but only random players get random drops. Should a player in the clan have an exceedingly rare item drop, the intent is they sell it and split the profits evenly.

However, some items are worth legitimately thousands of real dollars, and thus it is not unheard of for players to completely tank their credibility and sell the item just to cash out and never touch the game again. Reasonable, but it's stunning how there's zero methods put in which prevents this.

They do have something in place for this, at least in RS3. It's called coinshare/lootshare. The earliest I played RS was around 2007 so I can't specifically recall if it was in at that time or if it was added something later but this has definitely been a solved problem for at least a decade. If it's not implemented in OSRS, Jagex is retarded. If it's implemented and clans don't use it, then the clans are retarded.

If you've got multiple accounts running at the same time and you sell the gp you can make so much money its literally a legal money printer.
100%. That's exactly what I was doing for quite some time. I got too greedy at one point and started running multiple VMs and PCs 24/7 in not so distant locations. Only reason I stopped is because my "main" account got a 30 day ban. It's been so long I can easily get back into it, but the effort to update the various scripts and whatnot just isn't worth the few hundred bucks a month that it makes. Besides, real employment is much more lucrative.

Edit: Fixed a typo cuz I r dumb

Honestly OSRS players have to be some of the most autistic and insufferable cunts I've ever played with.
They can't handle change and throw a fit any time they try and update the game not to mention if you so much as mention RS3 and any good features it has they throw a tantrum "mUh eZiScape, pay2lvl".

This is why I don't argue with osrs fags, I just tell them to go fuck themselves and ignore them afterward. I'm not gonna listen to some normie opinion that probably started the game when Dungeoneering just came out. I've been playing the game since 2002, longer than most of these kiddos.

I remember back in primary school I used epic bot to fish sharks while I was at school could you do the same for your bot farm or did you have to constantly watch over the accounts? I've always thought about botting multiple accounts and leave them on while I'm at work but I'm way too lazy todo so

Goddamn I love OSRS.
It's a game only for the severely autistic and the habitual stoner, but the quests are awesome. Every little title you earn feels very impactful even if the gameplay is next to nonexistent.
