What OS should I install to my Pentium 4 shitbox? - I literally can't do anything productive with it.

Linux Mint, its a good OS and it runs well on low-end systems. Just download the MATE or Xfce version since the Cinnamon DE is resource heavy.
I already have about 5000 different linux boxes, if this were something I was giving away I would do that though.
I'm literally just looking for something stupid to put on there.

Ok, did some quick research and the most retarded OS I can think of is IRIX. A lolcow (CIA Nigger) unironically used this hell-hole of an OS and to top it off its proprietary.

I would LOVE to install IRIX, but I don't have any SGI workstations laying around.
But the desktop environment it uses IS available on Linux. Maybe it's finally time to try it out...

If you somehow get the DE to work please send screenie and the mandatory neofetch, I need to see this art.
I think it's called the MaXX Desktop. But now that you mention it, that actually sounds like a good idea.
The only problem is that it's proprietary, so there's no good reason to use it long term unless you REALLY want IRIX on x86 hardware.

Apparently their DE is called "IRX Interactive Desktop"

"The IRIX Interactive Desktop uses the Motif widget toolkit on top of the X Window System found on most Unix systems. The default window manager on the IRIX Interactive Desktop is 4Dwm."
- Wikipedia

That would be for the original version used in IRIX. MaXX Desktop is a fork using SGI's code with permission from the copyright holder.
I see, so Open Motif was released and then 5Dwm project came in and used it to attempt to replicate the look and feel of the proprietary 4Dwm. 5Dwm died and MaXX continued in its place.
Looks like I learned something new :)

I remember early 2000s a guy at work was all about BeOS and loaded it on a couple spare pcs we had to play with.

There was at one time an official (I think free) x86 version of solaris as another suggestion.

For BeOS, I could substitute that with Haiku. BeOS 5 might also be an option if there are any drivers for my shitbot.

As for Solaris, I have been experimenting with illumos recently and I'm actually considering putting it to some sort of "production" use.
