Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

I'd argue bullying (not the "please don't wear diapers and walk your girlfriend around on a leash" variant, actual bullying) has gotten worse among younger crowds, even grown ass adults are acting more and more like they're still in high school sometimes from what I hear and experience. The main difference is that blatant fisticuffs and locker-shoving has been out of fashion, that's been zero tolerance for a few decades. A majority of bullying is now online and/or even more passive aggressive and two-faced. Take a look at online shaming and you'll notice how much it focuses on excluding and badmouthing the baddie until they either just give up and disappear, or commit suicide.

If you dealt with this yourself or had a friend/family member deal with it, this is just how girls have always bullied. Even bullying basically became effeminate, more or less, and while all bullying is demoralizing, the way girls bully each other is inhuman. No wonder suicide rates have gone up for younger crowds.
I agree, I've just never liked how it's been phrased in the way Jet Fuel Johnny put it. People never stopped mocking and abusing each other, they just got more insidious about it.

It's probably been said before, but if this were any other president there'd be tons of coverage about him dodging any kind of live speech to instead go hide at private events at the various sites that were attacked 20 years ago.

It's hilarious to me how they put all their eggs into the Afghanistan withdrawal basket to such an extent that this hamfisted, tone-deaf recording about unity was the best they could come up with once robbed of that photo-op.

Its darkly amusing to think of how much money got -wasted- with all the prepwork for what they had planned. Cause super big events like that get set up -months- in advance.

So, a colleague of mine pointed out something. A large part of the backlash to the vaccine mandate might be something familiar to the Democrats, the consequences of their own actions.

The left spent -years-, the entirety of Trump's term, priming everyone to see fascism everywhere. As fear of Covid fell, the lack of driving emotion may have combined with that priming to make people much, much less willing to go along.

"For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law."

Unity doesn't seem too high on the priority list here.

One of the good things about all this bullshit happening is people may have time to read a Bible. Just like those "conspiracy theorists" just happen to be right 6 months later after they say w/e they say, the Bible has been uncannily accurate.
"I went drifting through the capitals of tin
Where men can't walk or freely talk
And sons turn their fathers in"

The constant discrimination against white people notwithstanding, of course. Just what I expected from a Europoor faggot.
In Belfast we knew of our discrimination and that built resentment, now even your fellow white Americans don't notice or they cheer it on. You unlikely to get a Belfast situation because you're aren't even united.

I think it is just usual American contrarianism. You can’t tell the country to do anything without the other half growing suspicious and asking “why?” with narrowing eyes.

Joe Biden: “To me that’s the central lesson of September 11,” he said. “Unity is our greatest strength.”

Also Joe Biden [to 80+ million Americans]: Our patience with you is wearing thin.

There's a point you'll reach where you won't any longer find contradictions in what they say because there is nothing these people can say that could redeem them. You come to intuitively understand words out of their mouths only have evil intent, and posts like this all look like the same tired joke to the point where the butt of the joke has become us instead of them.

I guess there are still circles where the joke is fresh, but increasingly less so.

For a bit of loose numbers, roughly the number of people in favor of mandates -in general-, without any specificity, here in Wisconsin goes to around 48/47. So thin support with a small margin of undecided.

But, add in any sort of actual enforcement measure, even small fines? That rapidly changes to about 30/70. The Support plummets and the undecided just -vanish-.

We had this data -before- an actual mandate was called for.
