To be honest I'm not sure if him using Nitter is a sports thing or him trying to make saying 'nitpicker' sound more offensive, i'm just gonna go with the above definition because it's funny to imagine him getting in trouble for calling someone that.

To completely deny him the benefit of the doubt this autistic slur doesn't make any fucking sense in context. I'm assuming that's some kind of vocational education center aimed at educating criminal youths and mildly retarded teens with a history of violent outbursts, kids who the public school system can no longer control and educate. Not quite juvie, but has much more authority than a normal high school and has staff on site that can handle unruly teens when they violently act out, trying to get delinquents some kind of vocational education so they can hopefully get into stable jobs as adults instead of living lives of crime.

The schools that I was talking about, the kids that attended would only attend that campus because the normal schools would no longer allow them to attend. They were basically a "last chance" for delinquents and mongos who had been expelled multiple times for their violent outbursts and disruptive behavior, had stronger security, behavioral training programs, etc. Trade schools like you're talking about aren't available in my area, or if they are they're a very niche thing that I've never heard were available here. But then, it makes sense for tech/vocational schools to be available in Louie's area due to Pittsburgh being a steel town with a history of roughneck jobs. Of course, I could easily see him having to have attended the kind of school I was talking about, seeing as how he's a retard with behavioral problems and a well-known history of acting out violently when he's having a tantrum.

I think what's going on is the foldable table is one of those that folds in half, and so there is a large crease/space directly in the middle of the table. It's not going to sit balanced on the crack, so he can either pick the left side or the right side. Or...a thick tablecloth would fix the problem. ^This. Vo-Tech is just the vocational technical school, often with multiple schools sending their kids to one location. I've never lived in Greensburg, but I'm from near enough that I know it's gonna be mostly the same for Lou's school. The not-quite-juvie version of school around here is usually called "alternative school". Vo-Tech is more geared towards the kids who don't intend to go to college. Learn to weld, work on cars, beautician stuff, gardening, etc. Usually the Tech kids spend the morning at Tech, then go back to the main school for the afternoon, where they take the necessary classes for graduation (math, English, blah blah.) The alternative school students stay in the same place all day, like ricecake said.
