Basically someone who's already been outed as a pretty shitty person canceled his lame mod and he blames the "toxic hoi4 modding community" for his troubles in developing the mod and in addition he wishes that all other HOI4 mods die.
The creator of torch of the protectorate was somewhat of a lolcow in the smaller hoi4modding circles.
But another toozer mod joins the pile of the never ending mass grave of aborted hoi4mods.

TNO had autistic power struggles, an alcoholic team lead and multiple leaks what're these guys' excuse ? He can have the decency of at least releasing what they've done so far. I'm going to get some flak for this but fuck it anyway. I agree that there were/and some are bad people in the hoi4 modding community. I'm not saying there aren't, you can look back at the past 280 pages as proof of that.
The Kaiserredux and The Fire Rises devs are good people. The Russian moders of what I've seen from The Great War Redux, New Ways, Long and Happy Life and a few other projects are good talented people. The Kaiserreich devs are good normal people. The Red World devs are a people that come from all walks of life to come together to respect the memory and legacy of a good man/dead creative and continue the project that he left off. That's to name a few, Most of the people in the hoi4modding community are fun people that like to shitpost and show off there imaginations and historical knowledge with there works of niche speclutorial fiction and there real world geopolitical simulators. You can talk shit about Paradox or some of the awful people that has been talk about here previously on this thread all you want but do not write off the hoi4 modding community as a whole.

Looking at TNO I felt like there is a wierd tonal shift between different areas of the world. Like you play 3 different modes under one theme.

1. Europe, where main plot is supposed to take place, but Germany plotline is so shit it has easily most dissapointing scenarios no matter which side you choose. But at least it's serious.
2. America and Asia. No one gives a fuck about them unless they went frustrated with Reich shitshow or they are tired of Russian warlords. Obviously devs didn't knew what to do there or how to insert them in narrative.
3. Speaking of Russian Warlords. I am convinced, that Russia is unintentional meme part of the mod, because of how much schizo scenarios take place there, thanks to Freddie's "so bad it's good" writing.

While I understand the sentiment and agree that there are nuggets of gold (mainly in the non western part of the community), the Soy4 modding community left such a bad taste in my mouth that I can't take them seriously anymore.
