Yes, it actually is female-only and usable for other things as well as dating, the creator Sall Grover has been 'cancelled' over it. But I think most lesbians won't use it because they refuse to be branded as TERFS.

Edited to add: When you create an account on Giggle you have to take a picture of your face and facial recognition software will determine whether you're male or female.

I don't understand why Her would go out of it's way to berate it's userbase like this. Is the team over there full of tranny jannies? Because anybody should be able to discriminate anybody on a dating app. Trans-loving lesbians can swipe right of the transbian and Super-Lesbians can swipe left and that's how the world go round.

The facial-detection stuff sounds like there's many ways to circumvent it. It would make it harder for males of various sorts, and limit their numbers, but not impossible.

From a 5 minute Google search I found: Their Head of Global Partnership is FtM, their Head of Customer Support is a they/them woman, their data scientist is a MtF (who also did some whistleblowing about Facebook apparently), and I think their Senior DevOpps Engineer is also MtF. Anybody with a LinkedIn might be able to see more, I'm too lazy to even make a fake one.

Because "transwomen" invade any lesbian space they can find, and then complain, scream, and threaten when said lesbians don't immediately drop to their knees to suck ladydick. Even if the team itself isn't full of trannies (and it looks like it is in this case) they will cave to the tranny demands because a) they are the loudest b) the team mistakenly thinks the trannies will be satisfied if they accommodate them a little more, and c) the trannies threaten public shaming and legal action if they don't get what they want.

My point was that the system wasn't broken just because MtF are not hot commodities. The app can show your profile to people, but they can never assure that it will find a taker. Most women who go on those app are not looking for trans of any kind, certainly not the basement-dwelling goblins that get posted here on a daily basis. And it's not a dating app job to turn it's userbase into goblin-fuckers. Seems like it would antagonise it's userbase, which is never a great move.
