General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
So the new rrat is Umisea was totally pushed by management, ignoring the fact that 2 of the first JP members Gura interacted with was Aqua and Marine?
For all we know, Gura wanted to collab with them for a while now, and when deciding on the 2nd EN member to fill the gap, Ina just seems to be the most fitting. Given that the other option for a translator aside from A-Chan was Kiara, i don't think it was a bad call from everyone involved, at all.

Didn't this place have several pages ranting about chumcucks tight over Gura's rigging, and several more about Calli having fun with a real person? And then more pages confused over Pippa's social awkwardness in groups?
Nothing is perfect and there are some things in this thread I didn't like, but none of these were annoying enough to abandon the thread completely. Strong reactions to misinformation/baits don't happen often and if they do, usually get drowned in a wave of new posts about something else.

how many of you would have used the farms if the thread didn't exist in the first place
I would not be visiting this site at all, the main content here does not appeal to me really (but I'm glad a site like that exists).

Riku: If you lose this race, I'm gonna cuck you.

Tenma lost the race. Poor fox.

Selen's team actually won one of the matches today. Granted it wasn't a full 20-man lobby due to it being Patch Day, which is notorious for breaking the game, but still required lots of professional decision-making in order to outmanoeuvre teams like Restya, RPR, Tempplex, and Virtual Gorilla. They're quite a deceptively decent team.

There are actually a decent amount, and more importantly there are a decent amount of people who only clip one Niji. Just today I found someone whose been chipping out Hayama Marin clips for over half a year now. They just don't get a lot of views and the algorithm certainly doesn't favour them. Niji clippers are the true rabbit hole.

Yeah your mileage is going to vary on that kind of content. I don't think I could handle 70 minutes of cute noises and a very palpable language barrier, so imagine my shock that it was actually pushed by Cover and there's like 5 more of them just this week.

I can only surmise that someone in the Marketing department has seen the amount of traction, fanart, and fervour HoloBirds gets and has decided that they want another themed group with more marketable members.

And while I personally don't care much about 'artificial' groups — nor do I care much about the opinions of a 4ch board that has a hobby of spending hours placing 'bets' on livestream viewer count predictions — I can see why some people may feel it's a step too far in a community that has, up until now, always had a more symbiotic relationship with the streamers regarding how these wacky group/ship names come about in the first place.

Edit: I can only speak on what I've seen from other sites, but I find it ironic if UMISEA is getting heavily pushed by management and all anyone was focused on was A-chan carrying the stream. Give her her own fucking channel already. Christ.
Idk, I feel like that's something they really should capitalize on since it seems to be popular with the fan base already and beyond that could even help with kinship since each pair in the series has never really interacted with the other.
That's just business as usual in my opinion.
In regards to that psychopath on Reddit tho..
Everything he spouted can reasonably be said about any form of entertainment since they're all controlled by a big Corporations.
Just look at Disney in Nintendo for example- both of them have a stronghold on people's nostalgia and will milk it to get people to buy their products and by extension form parasocial bonds with their customers to the point that they and their goods become artificial members of people's families and livelihoods.
Going after the new guy ( when it's just a subspecies of a pre-existing thing) is not only stupid but contradictory in itself.

and several more about Calli having fun with a real person?
I don't remember this site having that much of an meltdown over it compared to /vt/. It has never been about e-celebs in general but which ones and anitubers here and on /vt/ are very much hated.
Also that collab came out after the infamous Gura collab and painted Mori not giving a shit about her genmates/other holomembers while preparing for an e-celeb collab. Of course this was just bad timing and the next hololive collab and the other collabs afterwards proved that.

It's cool seeing some of the Phase Connect girls get fan translations to moon rune.
I feel bad for the sorry bastard who wants to translate Pippa.
This random Pippa clip got translated into like 4 different languages for some reason

It's interesting looking at what tubers catch on in random places. Kana has a curiously big Russian audience, even after her move to twitch.

edit: formatting, and damn I never knew there was such a huge audience for Russian subs of holoEN. There's clips with up to 500k views

Uruka likes to sing a certain chingchong song often, hence the clip.
Which reinforces my theory she is a Chinese-American girl raised by helicopter parents

and I can't fucking believe Pippa knows who ADoseOfBuckley is, what timelime is this??

You want them to make IRyS blander and stand out less like they did to AZKi? I thought this was the good think-thank thread.
Yes, because the design language for her model is at the opposite end of the spectrum compared not just to EN but the rest of Hololive, JP included. Standing out just for the sake of standing out isn't always a good thing. There are ways in order to redesign her and preserve her uniqueness without having her look like the red-headed stepchilld of EN. The darker color-language of her theme is actually pretty unique, but the art style is just jarring.

Honestly, regarding how Irys stands out, thats honestly more a fault of the rigging. It was rigged like her avatar is a traditional anime style. If the rigging was redone to better suit the art style I don't think there'd be much of an issue.

Anime in general seems to have a rather large following in Russia.

Nah like someone here said, was because no one told Redjuice to control his power levels like Huke did the poor rigger had to work with one of the most overcomplicated artists out there, in all his other works his power levels were reduced because the studios could not work with his stuff, Red just went and sperged hard with his daughter and the rigger was "holy shit"
