Was that what made you put distance from him during that event?

It's crazy how the "I'd prefer if you'd be quiet" video was just something that I showed to my drunk friends back in the day, thinking that the boy in the video had probably grown up and had bigger problems than video games. It's kind of amazing that he hasn't progressed much past what he was 5 years ago.

Oh, of course. It was impossible to deal with him for the last half of our friendship without getting involved with his ex. She was, in many ways, as exhausting as he was. I'm actually trying to re-access my old DMs with her on Discord because there's some insane stuff in there like her threatening to kill herself if I convince Chibi to break it off with her, etc. I don't remember it all but it's there. When I cut ties with him I closed the DMs for both of them so I can't get the messages easily.

I promise you it wasn't that impressive. It is everything you'd expect it to be: two soy-boys (forgive the term) who have 0 muscle on their body grunting and trying hopelessly to pin the other down - not realizing that 15% of the way through their battle the girl had quickly made her exit. And yes, his Pastebin was correct: after that scene the girl pretty much avoided him + the event for the rest of the week.

That GDQ I promised to throw him a birthday since previous GDQs where it fell on his birthday he either did something embarrassing (Tomba2 run) or he would essentially spend it alone or forcing his company on people. I had the full intention of throwing him a really nice party. I was going to get some of my friends to attend because...well, it's Chibi and not many people would go based on him alone. Sad but true. Anyway, I ultimately ended up not going to the party because of that situation, yes.

Before the event happened we had pretty much just started talking again. I want to say it was like...a month or two prior. I don't remember. But he promised me I'd see a change in him at SGDQ2018. He said he was working on himself and was a completely different person. I hate that I believed him for even a second. Night 0 - day before the event - he "gets drunk" (In quotations because he had a SINGLE mixed drink) and wrestles someone over a girl. And then thinks it's a good idea to post about someone else getting drunk enough to be escorted out, their private business that he didn't need to involve himself in. Both of those things happened the first night so I knew he didn't change and was the same attention seeking dumb-ass. And I'd say SGDQ2018 was the last time I considered myself to truly be his friend.

The birthday party was supposed to happen a few days later. I didn't want anything to do with it because of his behavior. But I'm not a dick or at least I don't like to be so I did order and pay for the birthday cake because I didn't want him to not have one. I did however have the people write on it "we would really prefer it if you'd be quiet" 100% swear on it. I'm trying to find a picture I know someone took it but I did for the meme. I didn't go to the party, turns out there was like only 4-5 people there...and that was it.

The rest of the GDQ I avoided him and I know he spent a good chunk towards the end just in his room having his "meltdowns"

No, I wasn't aware. At the point of the Easter Speedsters marathon, I had only been friends with him for like 2-3 months(?) and I didn't know anything negative about him other than the Tomba2 run. I was willing to give him a chance and fresh start with me. But I will say that after BigAl came out with that story I believe Chibi and I spoke about it and he admitted to it - telling everyone. Chibi doesn't really talk much about his time in college. I believe there's a lot that happened there that most don't know. I know that he had some boundary issues with people.

Like always having the last word in jokes, running it down the ground, or is there moments of Chibi just being introverted?

How is he around, heh, i guess "normal" people who is outside of any speedrunning, hardcore gaming bubble?

And almost in front of Caveman as well, i know it's more of a charity thing, but he should've been chased off there. I vividly remember watching it live way back when and even then it was painful as it was hilarious. It was a slow burn but you could tell Chibi felt like the odd one out immediately and sure enough everyone on /srg/ was totally aware that this dude was shitting up the stream. I forget if this was during a retro games block or what but I remember tuning in specifically because I wanted to watch old video game speedruns and though it was gonna be a comfy morning, little did I know I was tuning in for one of the funniest memes from that GDQ. I remember making a shitty macro image that emphasized the despair in Chibi's face when he was told to shut the fuck up but alas, it is lost to time.
