Once again, Kiara is asking for your support
Gotta admit, she has a point.
Honestly I’d like for holotori to get some support, and I think Kiara nails it on the head here with what the advantages of the group are (multilingualism, representation from all 3 hololive branches). There’s nothing stopping them from scheduling more holotori streams if they really want to do more with the group though.
But I like Subaru and Reine a lot so if she can convince Cover to put a similar amount of promotion to holotori as UmiSea, I’m all for it.

Maybe its just Kiara's approach/opinion voicing out her thoughts that really makes her sound desperate or annoying, but I looking at the picture, the group really has some potential e.g. upcoming Christmas season, they can collab with KFC and with nippon tradition, boosts sales through weebs, hikis, and neets .

It seems the Holomems finally realized that if they want slow and old af management to do/allow something, they need to push hard for it or they'll just read the summary and reject the idea. Marine kinda prove it with her new outfit : saying she want bikini and instantly get a no. Saying she want it anyway after doing her research and they'll start to willing to compromise. I bet if Kiara and the other birds push for Holotori, they'll get it in due time.

Kinda related, summary from Subaru ad-hoc 3rd anniversary stream because her live got cancelled.
Original was supposed to be a 3d live but that got postponed , want to make another stream plan but it got rejected and turned into a "No plans at all ,with subaru for 1 hour"

Subaru claims she's very bad at Free talk and that atleast ohayou subaru has a Script for it Thought about buying a cake before this stream but ending up getting a cream puff

Mentions that many of her stream ideas get rejected, wanted do discuss about how to test how far hololive would agree. Was thinking of doing like a School live with hololive members using Hololive Error Uniforms and doesnt even mind if it's a video. Thinking they might accept it as a reward for reaching 1 million Subs.
The rest of the summary in the comment of the vid is quite interesting and candid. Do check it out.

I could easily see more management backed teams emerging, probably using Pekora or Subaru as a central figure because they are already brand proven with the curry thing.
I reckon the duck would have to push for Holobirds for it to happen though, Kiara is a useful member with her language skills but she doesn't have broad enough appeal to push for it on her own.

Yea, I'd be very disappointed if they only were able to use those outfits in the context of Error stuff. It's basically a new 3D costume for a few of them which is a rather big deal. For the vast majority of them, their regular and Idol costumes are the only 3D outfits they have.

I know Aqua has a special Live one, and chances are Watame and Suisei might also get something special for their first Live. Since I'd be surprised if they put that amazing Watame outfit front and center for all the publicity and have her show up with her regular Idol outfit.

You do know that even if they made holotori official that doesn't mean any product/brand about chicken would want them you know. If say KFC wants Peko/Marine/Aqua any top holos thats what they would get only thing cover can do is to do a +1 or +2 members that are not as popular look at the baseball sponsor and bakudanyaki..

This is so difficult to listen to because as right as she is about HoloTori being first, being more accommodating of the language barrier, and representing all the branches, it is really sad/unfortunate that Kiara has looked at it and her immediate reaction is to feel that it's preferential treatment.

The way she's viewed UmiSea as an 'officially recognised' group implies that she is no longer happy with the idea of HoloTori being an 'unofficial' group; and that kind of ties into what I said yesterday about the relationship between the streamers and the community making these group names and stuff, because now the question will start to become 'Well why does one get financial backing and anime episodes but not others?' etc. and Kiara being the one to instigate that discussion makes her look quite malicious.

The correct way for her to respond is for her to be like 'Oh cool my friend is getting this opportunity, I hope we see more of these non-Generational groups in the future!' but what she said reads as so passive-aggressive and narcissistic it's agonising to listen to her.

Buuuuut let's be real. There's a reason UmiSea exists and it's to make money in the long run. Kiara, Reine, Subaru and Mumei's overall marketability pales in comparison to Aqua, Marine, Ina, and Gawr 'my nendo sells out in minutes' Gura. Japanese companies prove every few months that they REALLY want Aqua slapped on everything they make.

well i do hope the jap not have those "anti-opinion from outsider bullshit"
although it really seems out of nowhere, this team was. but I guess it started from Aqua being an ambassador anime event related with sea name on it.
Screenshot 2021-09-16 204537.png

and as we see, they seem already prepared long enough with Logo and animation all over it.
I hope it is a start for another project, all Cover do actually just pitching the idea to the company (even it seems it's not that easy especially jp corp). even Ollie latest stream giving an idea to just collab with any bobba brand, all i can think is Chatime since it's available in at least each branch represent
and it will sell like a hot cake

actually idk how the business work in JP, is it not that easy like the rest of the world? as long as you can convince the number and your track record? and does anything has to do with collab let just say the Taco Bell with gura, the EN branch need an approval from JP? what if they don't know the brand shit outside JP?

The average sub count on Holo EN2 as of today, three and half weeks after their debut, lies at 262K.

By comparison HoloMyth had 417K in the same time. That's 60% more subs.

Even if you count out Gura, an obvious outlier, you get 344K.

Overall this is the opposite of what I, and probably many of us expected: numbers that would explode in the first few weeks. So what happened?

There's the obvious sub culling by Susantube. Some anti-bots algorythm must've been triggered. EN2 seems to be slowly recovering from that but it seems the damage has been done.

But the re-growth isn't quite as the same pace as the EN1's. Could it be that the chosen five of EN2 are just not as appealing?

I think there's a certain market saturation taking place as well. Nijisanshi might've been expecting this and where quick to release a 2nd round of talent.

The Holobrand is HUGE and we're seen how basically everyone wins since Holofans are prone to sub (even if pity-sub) most of the Holomems. This doesn't quite seem to be happening for EN2 tho as their numbers would have risen much higher by now. I think this might be due to oversaturation. Holofans have already enough content/oshis and are thinking to themselves ''I'll check the new kids on the block later, when I got time''.

Another thought I came up when I saw the 1 year anniversary of HoloMyth. I just thought to myself... damn, the talent scout from Hololive is a fucking genius, he got 5 huge talents here that, given time, really developed into stars. Really tho, props to the talent department.

So.. are Myth outshining Council so hard because they are really that talented and had a one-year headstart to solidify themselves among the Vtuber community?

As far as judging EN2.. I've only seen a few streams and clips but I don't think any of them are inheritly ''bad''. This is where I want to start a discussion and get to the bottom of why the numbers aren't there yet.

Personaly I like the models and personalities of all 5 more than Irys and she got an easy half a million. I suppose that's due to the timing and being released alone.

Overall, this is just numberfagging though, as the other set of numbers, namely, the cash these girls are getting and the live viewership is pretty healthy.

One of the major obstacle for Holotori going official is that Subaru is officially NOT a duck. And despite the recognition, huge sales of the duck plushies, and even sponsors thinking she is a duck, Subaru is still insisting that she's not a duck

I'm just talking about the potential, but I get what you mean. Maybe UmiSea is the test bed for the border-crossing collabs.

You have to factor IRyS in that too, since she got the fastest subcount of EN (I remembered reading it from this thread) and the time gap between her debut, HoloCouncil's debut, birthdays, and anniversaries occurring in HoloEN. Maybe its due to such rush that the shock or capacity to welcome and adapt new members really slowed the progress of the newbies.

I think the new talent is fine and we're finding some stand outs like Kronii, but it does feel over-saturated. I think once the collab ban is lifted there will be more subscribers, but who knows?

You really can't compare myth and council. Myth debuted on the time where vtuber is at its peak hype and not to mention they are the "first" EN branch of hololive. Obviously meme and personality helps boost myth aswell.

I don't think council is not as talented aswell or less entertaining.
