Larson admitted his big mistake with the strip was that he drew a tool that resembled a saw, so people assumed the other tools were supposed to have real-life counterparts too. Of course, none of the other cow tools look like tools at all, which was what confused so many people.

Shit, I thought it was an SRS joke. The other tools look like cut off udders and a branch to make fake horns.
