To reduce fraud, there are certain (and intentionally ambiguous) requirements to be able to vote.
Ranked Choice
As of 2025, all categories for Lolcow of the Year are evaluated through
Ranked Choice Voting (RCV).
All you need to know about RCV is that you should arrange the candidates to your preference. If you have no reference, you can rank fewer than the total number of candidates.
The system is very fair. It is sometimes referred to as
instant-runoff voting because your ballot permits multiple rounds without voting more than once.
