To be fair........God I want to fucking kill myself for offering any form of defense of Dev. I feel like less of a man for typing this......he's so terminally online and constantly on twitter that he typically replies or retweets before the note has been added. There has been more than one time where he retweets something stupid, I decide to follow it to see the arguments later but have to get off my phone due to work, then come back 2 hours later and there's a new community note. Though I could also see him being dumb enough to ignore community nots. So thats probably not every case.
Just noticed this. The argument for that, is that with all the money an indavidual has now that they arent being taxed by the state, other things could step in. Disability due to work injury wohld start to be covered in employment contracts, and general disability from genetics/accidents would be covered by charity. Which in theory would have reduced regulations making them cheaper to run and better funded since people now have money to donate. Which isnt that absurd since most charities in the past opperated this way. How well that would work in the modern era? No clue. My objection would be that a ton of those charities would be run by religous groups. And for stuff like feeding the homelless thats fine, but things can get a bit out of hand. The pray the gay away camps and whatever the fuck was happening in "Jesus Camp," comes to mind.

This has not been the first, nor will it be the last time Dev attempts a false equivalence when talking about Internet controversies.
Why do I say this? Simple. What is the moral character of Kirsche or Valens like? Your answer to this question determines how much you know about these two individuals and also if you understand why Kirsche opposed Valens.
Firstly, Kirsche is standing up for free speech, specifically HER free speech. Her right to criticise Clown World, or more pertinently to this matter, mocking someone who was plenty deserving of mocking. She has made a career out of doing this. It's as positive an argument for free speech, and for the marketplace of ideas as you can get.
Meanwhile, Valens represents the authority figure, high off his "influence" anointed to him and an unscrupulous person. He publicly engages in degeneracy and pushes his agendas using his anointed position as "journalist". A man who believes he is a woman. A pedophile who writes condemning drawn CP. A living contradiction, living up to the definition of "unscrupulous".
So, Kirsche belittles and exposes Valens' proclivities. The woman with free speech mocks and denigrates a mentally ill man in "authoritative" position. Naturally, Valens feels personally threatened by this indiscretion. He may have the anointed position, but the mandate of heaven rests on the anime foxu. After all his "work", he still inevitably gets blown out by a woman. What do you think such an insecure heathen will do in reaction? A rhetorical question because we have seen what people like him do, time and again.
Now back to Dev. Who is he following and defending, and who has he misrepresented, defamed and not so secretly endorsed a cancellation attempt against?
