Kamala is the queen of DEI. Literally only chosen to be VP because she is black(ish). No one chose her because of anything other than that. Plus, the establishment part of the party is setting up to coronate Newsom.
The Democrats are in a real bind come 2028. Trump's heir apparent is Vance, who can talk circles around their entire field and has an authenticity to him that none of them can match. Walz (who seems to want to be in the conversation) got clobbered by Vance in their debate, Kamala wouldn't fair much better, and while Newsom has managed to make people forget how horrendous he is that'll all come out when he's pushed in the primaries.
However, the piece that screws every Democrat that no one's found an answer to is that their whole bench is repellant to male voters. And with how things are going now, I don't believe they're solving that in the near future.

The other potential Democrat Candidates aren't better either. Pritzker is a fatass fuck that also does horrendous things, Hochul is a LOL candidate, Shapiro got buried because he's Jewish, and while Hawaii's Josh Green could try to backdoor his way into Candidacy, he's still irrelevant from a National perspective, his incompetence with how he handled Lahaina burning to the ground, his over-dependence on using "Emergency Acts", and his "War on Homelessness" would get revealed in the primaries, and his Jewness may also get him buried just like Shapiro.
