In my year and a half of .gif pfps I've found it's a bit of a crapshoot of dropped frames, lost timing, and 10MB upload limits.

If you switch to .webp format all those problems go away and you get a more efficient pfp. It can have a longer animation sequence and loads faster. I export the project as .webm on OpenShot, then use FFblast to convert it to .webp.

If you're code illiterate like me, the LLMs can walk you through it step-by-step. Probably there is some program out there that can just export to .webp in one go. idk, I have my system.
Better but it's still glitched when saved as webp on asperite.

Something in your pipeline I guess. Screen record the loop working properly on your computer, then work with the video file instead - to reach a .webp or .gif final product.

If that removes the problem than Aseprite is the culprit, adding some meta instruction shit or whatever to your file. I don't know the nuts and bolts to it I just find the workarounds.

download handbrake and compress them into 360p
The size doesn't seem to be the issue (I'm having the same problem, and am using Handbrake) - some will get stuck at 25%, others at 100%, some a few minutes and some a few seconds. But they all end up with "Oops! We ran into some problems." Very hard to edit a lolcow thread if you can't add the video evidence in...

try to use online converters to test out every single possible format.

Null, I know you have nothing else to do*, so at some point could you revisit the "Has this been posted?" Algorithm? I just spent 15 minutes carefully formatting an article for A&N only to find out it had already been posted. With the same title.

Granted, I have the night off and a bottle of Tallisker's single malt, but that's 15 minutes I could have spent being racist to Indians.

*It's possible you do. No rush, Sisyphus.

When posting an article to A&N, noticed the post article button seems to be disconnected from the rest of the input form for posting a new article, and instead sits at the bottom of the window. I assume it is not supposed to do this, and it's not just because I am using it wrong.

Edit: Now it's correctly attached again. Never mind, I'm probably just using it wrong.

I have been informed that some users are experiencing slowdown exclusively on the pink boards, specifically the time it takes to load pages and the hover time it takes for sticker options to pop up. Other boards don't seem to have this issue.

Since I know this isn't enough to go off of I'll just ask this:
Are there any extra elements that load exclusively on pink boards which could be responsible?

ETA
Something that might be helpful in diagnosing is the person who told me about this has the following extensions:
Advanced Profanity Filter 4.4.1
Bitwarden Password Manager 2026.2.0
uBlock Origin 1.70.0
Dark Reader 4.9.121
Google Docs Offline 1.102.1
Stylus 2.3.17 which is only in use on YouTube to her knowledge

Do you have any extensions installed besides your ad blocker?

Edit: On the Linux Thread, starting early this morning posts stated being out of chronological order. I was confused as to what was going on so the earlier version of this thread goes off on a tangent

On the Linux Thread it keeps thinking that this is the first unread post so every time I click on the thread it'll jump to the same post even though I have read the exact same page.
Screenshot_20260401-221518.Brave.png
On the "watched threads" page if I click on the "x minutes ago" link it jumps to the exact same post every time, and oddly enough the post itself has a weird time, where the post before AND after will say "Today at x:xxam" but the post itself says "25 minutes ago" despite being posted several hours ago
Screenshot_20260401-221614.Brave.png
If I click on the "first unread" link it scrolls to the third post on the page, and I'm pretty sure there was similar wonkieness back when the previous page was the last page.

I'm not sure what's causing the glitch, I tried unwatching and rewatching the thread and it didn't help

Edit, now it seems the counter changed despite there being no new posts and now it's a different post with the glitched posted time despite being posted over 12 hours ago

To add to this, a new post there just got inserted into the middle of the page:
Checked on Firefox and Ungoogled Chromium, same thing.
I didn't even catch that, but that would explain why I was confused. I'm guessing a few posts are stuck at the bottom for some reason?
oh that entire page is messed up, the first posts was posted today at 8am, then the next at 6pm today, then the next at 8:25am today, and it keeps alternating between about a 12 hour period.

I just made a new post and it showed up in the middle of the page, with 7 posts below it
