Post SAW collapse after the Germany win has always bothered me.
I think it should still happen most of the time but there should be some way to avert it but it comes with a massive cost.
Huttig wins but he controls an empire of ashes, that kinda thing.
Afrika Addio had that, but it got shoah'd for genocide mechanics, and in any case I do know that in newer TNO versions Germany can support an anti-Huttig clique in the Reichsstaat who take over Leopodville and can later take over the rest of the Congo in a proxy war before rejoining the Pakt.
I like the way you think but I think this falls into the same pitfalls TNO itself does. It's more complicated than it needs to be and causes multiple decisions to become suicide buttons. How about: Any president can escalate to a small-scale deployment of low-yield nukes if Huttig uses chemical weapons against the OFN in breach of the Geneva protocols. This doesn't end the war or your political career since Huttig just gassed GIs. Instead of an instant collapse have several key Schild cities are wiped off the map, resulting in various harsh but fair debuffs. If the war drags on anyway and OFN troops start returning home with radiation sickness, then the popularity of the ruling party starts to tank. Ie make it a risky gambit for OFN instead of a game ender. Optionally: Schild can respond by using the uranium in Congo to develop their own weapons. If the war drags out too long after nukes were used and there's a tit-for-tat between the Schild and the OFN or just OFN using nukes repeatedly, then a collapse can happen. Use a devastation meter so that the player can see how close they are to it. Give it a unique anarchy/Huttig devastation if it all goes kaput. I liked @Mussolini’s Merkin's idea of Huttig's empire of ash and think that could fit in there.

In other words have it work more like TFR's GAW instead of TNO's Haiti where nukes are a fun escalation.

Outcomes are changed depending on how the war ends.
OFN total victory:
Depends on decisions afterwards.
-If USA keeps separate admins, things will play out much like they do now. If the administrations are successful, the new countries will automatically join the OFN. If not, then they become proxy and expansion fodder for other superpowers + free france
-If USA forms CAR, collapse is guaranteed but now it becomes a proxy war for USA vs warlords/tribals
-If South Africa takes over, they have to deal with ultranat/nat soc pan africans. You also can deal with your new client states and military administrations, plus your new acquisitions in the south. Pan-africans have a big uprising, but you can weaken them through your actions. If you don't weaken them they'll be incredibly overpowered and hard to fight. If you maintain the monarchy you can crown Elizabeth as Empress of Africa.
OFN leaning:
Huttig insta kills the other Rks via assassinating Muller and Schneck and forms Grossafrika. When Grossafrika collapses, he will be in a weak position for his reconquest. The Germans will also not get a proxy in Africa. Italy, Japan, and US will however, and Free France or Cameroon can sweep in as well.
Status Quo Ante Bellum:
Like OFN leaning. Huttig still insta kills the other Rks, but this time Germany has a proxy to fight imperialistic wars with and Huttig is slightly stronger. Japan can choose to help Zimdhesia in this scenario.
Pakt leaning/total victory:
These play out similarly to each other. In this case Huttig fails to assassinate Muller and Schneck thanks to intervention by the Boers. Huttig will tthen attack the schild members, with the Germans helping the remaining Schild.
-If Huttig wins, he will be in a stronger position for the Grossafrika collapse, and at his strongest in case of total victory. Japan can help the Boers + Zimdhesia following post collapse. Germany does not get proxies in this scenario, and the US does not get proxies in case of Pakt total victory.
-If the Schild wins, the Boers, Muller and Schenck will partition Ostafrika and rejoin the pakt. They then can pursue their own political paths.

South Africa:
Post-war elections as well dealing with new territories if you made gains. Paths are influenced by whether you compromised with the ANC and if the Boers won. (You don't exist if the pakt totally wins)
Ostafrika:
Burgundian backed murder death bush war
Zentralafrika:
If you survive, Muller can choose to retire and dedicate his time fully to hunting. If he does, you can either establish a proper military administration, or a corpatocracy. You may even get involved in foreign wars for fun and profit.
Sudwestafrika:
Schneck can either maintain status quo, get couped and replaced by a hardliner, or he can establish a native collaborator state. You'll stay in the Pakt regardless.
Boer Republic:
Post war Boer politics. Establish 20 million Bantustans.

Really the greatest issue about Southern Africa is that it's completely forgotten about after the SAW. It's really buggy and poorly coded as well. I do really want to improve it sometime down the line.

I also want to limit the use of nukes outside of extraordinary circumstances. Also want to make their use actually devastating economy wise.
It's OK, I'll just reincarnate as a Chechen and buckbreak Russians.

Anyway, made a graphical icon for the 1978 German infantry euipment tech, you should probably also replace the 1988 equipment with the one from modern TNO, on the right here.

When are we getting "Dirlewanger's Trans Puppygirl Polycule" path content? This is integral to the original TNO lore.
I've hired 30 Albanians to code it to ensure it's an authentic experience.
 
I Would play the fuck out of a 1960's version of TFR and i do hope the team one days considers to try it, considering BTWH isn't gonna be doing jack shit anytime soon.
Maybe have it start in 1968, with the ‘68 protests in France actually bringing down the government and sparking a wave of revolutions in Europe. Which causes the USA and the Soviets to get involved militarily, which escalates domestic unrest in both that leads to civil war. Late 60s-70s Cold War chaos sounds fun as hell.

It is also one of the most ignored timeframes in videogames related to the cold war and yet it is also one of the most fascinating timeframes given all the stuff that happened during that time. Peak Vietnam war, the Arab-Israeli conflicts, the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia, the American approach to China, the Sino-Soviet war, the various conflicts in Africa like the Congo, Angola, Ethiopia vs Somalia, the Rhodesian bush war, insurgencies in Latin America, the Arab conflict between nationalist and monarchies, skirmishes in the Korean DMZ, the start of the The Troubles in Ireland, communist terrorist attacks across many nations. It is a shame it is so ignored.

Gonna have to gunsperg but is there a reason why the Mauser G40 is basically a SIG 550? Did they get the design from the Swiss o algo?
