Regardless of your opinion on furries, I think it's amusing that one lolcow-filled group is kind of just forcing their way into the other.

"I like acting like a dog while wearing a neoprene mask. Therefore furry conventions should cater to me"
He's right you know.

Furfags are a fetish community. Only difference between furfags and BDSM groups or whatever is the extent furries will go to cover up their degeneracy.

Not surprised that the latest degeneracy to infect the fandom is pup play. Last time I said to hell with the fandom, when I lost two close friends to the"lifestyle". Beyond hope, much like the fandom itself.

That Pup Ansel guy looks interesting, he shows up in a number of places. I tried to look further, but after just a few clicks there was more bare man ass than I cared to see. That's some shit I just don't want to touch.

FWA was rad, but there sure was a lot of strange shit going on. You guys already covered a good chunk of it, but I'm gonna share my takes since I was gone all weekend.

However, even worse was the extremely long wait line for those who pre registered, moving about as slow as Atlanta's gridlock traffic.

I'm not exactly sure what it says about furries if they're complaining about wristbands and long line wait times, considering that's the standard shit you have to deal with at any convention that's not a furfag fuck fest...
To be fair, waiting three and a half hours is pretty insane, regardless if this is the norm or not.

A bit off topic, but what exactly do you do in a furry con?

Like sure you could dress up and meet other furries and maybe buy a few art here and there but what else is there?

Even Brony con has things like panels, authors, etc geared towards the show. At least you know what you're getting.

At furry cons, it just seems like a lot of people meet with their friends, get drunk, suit up and cause some trouble. Why not just do that at home?

It's easier to meet up with groups of friends at cons, I think. As for panels, I'm not as much of a furry so I've never taken interest in them, but they usually consist of meet and greets, fandom careers (art, comics, youtube, etc.), and sexual topics when it's after dark.
Also you can have sex, that's pretty neat.

My favorite reply to Nikki’s tweet:

... for coming from Xydexx, a furfag who admits publicly that he’s an inflation fetishist and likes to fuck animal pool toys. Now that is good press!

Why are furries so concerned about the fandom's image? Everyone knows it's weird and gross. The real concern should be that the Marriott can cancel the event whenever they please. Tek Pup and Murrlin should've been banned on the spot.

Here's something Murrlin tweeted during FWA. Poor screencap because he locked his Twitter like a little bitch.

Dragoneer is the same fat fuck who ignored the Zaush CP scandal because they're buddies, I don't think it says anything when he stops shoving hot dogs in his mouth for a second to acknowledge obviously degenerate behavior is degenerate without any effort.

It is a mystery. But then they do have that obsession with acceptance and being loved by everybody that you generally don't see in other fetish fandoms; I dunno where that comes from but I think that's where you get worries about image.

it came from the fact that le epic 4ch0nz tried really hard to shut down furry back in the day

Yes, the fursecution complex persists to some degree. There are also various embarrassing documentaries / reality shows, and "that one CSI episode", as well as some spergier people who decide to talk to the media at events for some reason, that I guess make them feel this need to try to present the nice image, in compensation? They are rather distressed when someone already thinks that furry is "that animal costume sex thing" and they would very much like to be able to steer someone's understanding of the concept toward the innocent if they get to introduce them to it. This is probably also part of it: http://plausiblydeniable.com/opinion/gsf.html

That being said furfags tend to get an air of obnoxious superiority when called a furfag or degenerate, mostly due to getting trashed since 2006. Essentially it's more or less how trolling itself died as a thing.

You go from being numb to it to mocking it under some sort of troll shielding. See:

I had forgotten about the geek social fallacies. Thanks for posting that, that actually goes a long way to explain it.

There’s also the geek trait of wanting to exuberantly and obnoxiously share the things they like with everybody else. That’s bad enough when the interest in question is a TV show, movie, or the like but when its “I’ve discovered my kinks and my fetishes and how awesome my sexuality is!” Well, furries take the obnoxious to a whole new level.

the idea here is that if epic 4ch0nks was utterly shitting on furry being hateful then their response was "well let's be really nice and accepting of people" because it was the polar opposite of what they were being treated with

it wasn't so much "accept literally everyone" as it was "you jerk off to cartoon animals and that's okay" but apparently this got twisted into "you fuck kids and that's okay" at some point because no one was around to say "dude, no, don't"

I love how their biggest concern about this whole pup-play fiasco isn't that this degeneracy is a major recurring issue in the fandom, but that the normies found out about it. Rather than showing a smidge of introspection, they're going into full SHUT IT DOWN mode.

If the furry fandom ever adopts a motto, my suggestion for it would be “oh no! You weren’t supposed to find that!“

And your right on this. You’d think at some point furries would say “hey guys, maybe it’s US that’s the problem here”.....
