Your writing is incredibly empty, Lily, and also poorly paced. Reading through that last piece of yours - "Bother" - was an honest to god chore. There's no flow to your words. No pep in your writer's voice. And you continue to tell rather than show; your readers should never be 'instructed' on how to feel about the characters, or a situation. Not to mention your lack of character description, and inability to set a scene. I'd give it a 2/10, at best.

I THINK it was complaints about my narration, which I don’t waste time with in my vignettes most of the time, but the whole thing is so outrageously vague that this is just guesswork.
Pretty trivial regardless though.
“Lack of character descriptions” makes me laugh. It’s a cute little vignette, eat a dick.

Let’s unpack that, shall we?
I don’t disagree that Venezuela isn’t socialist. It very much is. But many of it’s issues come from the fact that Maduro has been completely fucking the country up. Venezuela was actually doing okay for itself before Maduro started printing money like crazy (really bastardized version of that story, bear with me).
Venezuela is a socialist country having massive problems right now.
BUT it’s dishonest to claim that Socialism suddenly is a terrible system because of Venezuela. Socialism works in many other countries, and is in fact well known for being the leash that keeps Capitalism from eating itself.
Speaking of which, let’s apply your dishonest attitude to Capitalism.
In the US, people working a full time, minimum wage job cannot afford their expenses and often need to work two. There is no public health care program accessible to everybody and as a result a lot of people die from preventable diseases caused by the massive price inflation of health care compared to the rest of the world. Worker rights and labor unions struggle there and businesses run around unchecked doing extreme damage to the economy through wealth hoarding and siphoning government benefits.
The United States is the Venezuela of Capitalism.
Does that mean Capitalism suddenly is worthless? No, because almost every other country in the worlds uses a Capitalist economy and manages just fucking fine.
In fact, it’s the exact same problem as Venezuela. Capitalism was doing just fine in the US until Reagan got in power and started massively deregulating the entire thing. Slashing taxes, slashing regulations, breaking up unions, and basically letting corporate America do whatever the fuck it wanted. Which is why the US is such a shithole because that’s what happens when Capitalism is left unrestrained.
So is the problem
- Capitalism itself
- Americans’ stubborn refusal to accept that Capitalism has flaws that need to be mitigated and repaired in order to maintain it longer than a few decades?
Every other country accepts those issues, and Socialist policies are how we repair the cracks that show up within Capitalism before they turn into disasters. So before you start going “b-b-but Venezuela” maybe stop and look at your own country and realize that people could just as easily use the US as a prime example of why Capitalism is the worst thing ever.
I mean they’d be just as much of a paint-huffing idiot as you are because they’re not looking at the real problem, but I’d love to see how you try wriggle out of that.
Socialism works, and that’s proven by the fact that it’s used by almost every country in the world alongside Capitalism. Stop swallowing American propaganda you idiot.

On the topic of the US being an example of Rogue Capitalism: One, I live here and completely agree. Two, by some estimates, the events of the 1990s should have brought the US to collapse back in 2002, so why the US hasn't gone the way of the U.S.S.R. or Yugoslavia is still an enigma.

I'm having an argument with a friend, who is totally supportive of the LGBT+ community, but says that until a trans person has surgery they shouldnt expect people to acknowledge their gender identity, I say that bullshit, but they say society shouldnt have to recognize them as who they are until they have fully transitioned
