There's probably a psychological term for it, but Gabe has a pattern of just speaking for long periods of time to the point that no one can get a word in (if done verbally). The convenient thing about all of this taking place online in a space where he can't alter his previous posts is that there's a record of everything he says that will exist forever, basically. As such, the normal strategy that Gabe would use to manipulate someone no longer works. He can't talk someone's ear off for so long that they disengage just to get some peace & quiet, then just agree with him in order to avoid a confrontation.

I'm sure Gabe knows he's lying but it's a compulsive issue at this point. He literally can not help himself.
