03/05 - Trouble in paradise - In which our protagonist begins to suspect Toren might not be all that.

Something frivolous and outside a realistic budget I bet.
Doubt he has the credit to get something from anywhere other than a buy-here-pay-here lot. Which is why the deferred payment lie is interesting. Those places immediately repo pretty much the week after a non-payment.

Maybe he got something from a shady used car dealer but I'm amazed anyone could find any lending institution which would sign on for the loan. Most of the Ratking strikes me as credit roaches.

Toren seems like the kind of person that bails without so much as a goodbye. They'd set something up beforehand with a ride, get Phil to leave long enough for him to run through the place and grab anything worth a dime and poof! fucking gone.

Then go dark on social media, avoid all attempts to contact, and then, maybe a month after he left he'd answer and act fake surprised that Phil is angry "What? I thought you knew I was leaving. Remember that conversation we had about it? When I said I was planning to "make some changes" in my life? This is totally what I meant" and if Phil gets angry, perfect then it's "See? This is why I had to leave, you get so angry over everything, I didn't want to say it to your face, but, your an abuser, goodbye!" *click* Then he turns to his new host and says "Ugh, another psycho ex, sorry you had to hear that, but it'll be different with YOU, promise, and, hey, wha'ts this crap? I told you I don't drink this brand! Don't you CARE about me?"

I'm sure Toren was planning on deferring the payment all along and the "car payment - help" tweet was just a ruse to get a bit of vodka money before the "problem" was solved.

Of course because he's going to have a double car payment next month, he won't be able to help Phil with the household expenses in April. You've almost got to laugh at how easily he pulls this shit off.

I can't express how much joy it brings me to watch Phil get repeatedly conned after all the shit he pulled over the years.

It's kinda queasy for me. Watching Phil suffer is hilarious. Watching an equally terrible (maybe worse?) piece of shit get away with things is an unfortunate side effect. It's like watching a brown recluse get into your house and kill a grasshopper that's been annoying you.

Do we know what kind of car Toren owns?

That's going to happen with or without any outside help, it's just a matter of when not if and if what I've gatherd of late is accurate it might be rather soon.
I'm kind of amazed actually and the amount of crap he's already amassed. For someone who's only had a hole to shove his shit into for 6 months, he's got a ton of crap laying around.

Phil wasn't exactly homeless, but he was the only homeless guy that I can think of that had a storage locker full of crap that he didn't sleep in that took several trips to bring to his new hovel.
